Objectives - Clear pathway for Ontario players to national team / professional level - Address needs of top players - Prioritize the advancement of Canadian athletes - Coaches and referees greater opportunities to work at an elite level - Align with the objectives of the OSA’s Long Term Player Development plan, and strive to be aligned with the strategic priorities of the Canadian Soccer Association

League 1 Ontario helps develop a STRONGER CULTURE FOR THE SPORT OF SOCCER IN ONTARIO

Technical / Operational requirements - NOT a franchise model - Licenses renewed annually (2 year commitment) - League winners compete against Quebec champions (TFC beat CS Longueil) - Cup competition (final SC beat Sigma FC)

- Roster rules applied to ALL teams - 18 player game day roster must feature min. of eight (8) U-23 players, with 4 of the U-23 players being in starting XI - Max. of 3 non-Cdn. players - Max. of 5 substitutions per match… no re-entry
