FIREPOND Follow I-95 for about 5.5 miles and exit onto Route 3 north. OPTICS Continue north on Route 3 for approx. 15 miles until you reach FACILITY Exit 88 for Route 40 (Groton Rd.). Take a right at the end of the ramp and head west on Route 40. See “From Route 40” WESTFORD directions below. RADIO TELESCOPE From the north: Route 3 south to exit 88, Route 40. Take a gate left at the end of the ramp and head west on Route 40. See “From Route 40” directions below. From the east/west: I-495 to Route 3. Take Route 3 north to exit 88 (<5 mi.), Route 40 (Groton Rd.). Take a right at the MIT HAYSTACK MIT WALLACE end of the ramp and head west on Route 40. MIT LINCOLN LABORATORY FROM ROUTE 40: Follow Route 40 west for 5 miles until you see MILLSTONE FACILITY the sign for MIT Haystack Observatory on the right, 1∕4 mile

99 MILLSTONE ROAD after the sign for the MIT Wallace Observatory. Take a right ~ 5 miles onto the access road. Keep going past the Lincoln/Millstone facilities; the road curves to the left. Follow the access road 1½ miles to the Haystack Observatory. TURN HERE Once at the Haystack parking lot, enter via the main entrance and check in with the receptionist.
