September 2020 Welcome to Beckfoot Trust Thank you for taking an interest in Beckfoot Trust and its schools, we really appreciate it. We established the Trust in 2013 with two schools and have steadily built up to ten, with four secondary, four primary and two special schools. We created the Trust because we believe that schools are stronger by working together. SUMMARY 1.1 This report seeks to update members on current casualty levels and trends in the Bradford District and on the Road Safety Education, Training and Publicity initiatives aimed at reducing these casualties. 2. BACKGROUND 2.1 A report on proposals for the devolution of Road Safety funding was considered by the Area Committees in 2012. Members resolved to support an evidence based approach to determine Road Safety priorities. It was also resolved to present an annual ‘State of the Nation’ style report detailing casualty numbers/trends and details of ongoing and proposed road safety education, training and publicity initiatives to the Area Committees. 2.2 The West Yorkshire Transport Strategy 2040 includes a specific aim to reduce road accidents, aspiring to ‘zero tolerance’ of transport-related deaths. Adoption of ‘Vision Zero’ has been accepted by the West Yorkshire Safer Roads Executive and we are in the process of developing the reality of this vision for the districts. -

September 2020 Monday, 28 September 2020 The Consultation Background information The Bradford District has experienced a significant increase in demand for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision in the last 10 years. It is projected that the demand for SEND provision will continue to grow across all sectors in the Bradford District. Bradford has experienced a year on year increase of children and young people requiring an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). As at 14th September 2020 the Local Authority is maintaining 4497 Educational, Health and Care Plans. There are also 13,616 children and young people who receive SEN Support. Evidence shows there continues to be an increased demand for specialist places across all sectors. In order to meet the growing demand for places we analyse the data by primary need. The order below represents the largest number of pupils with a current EHCP by primary need: 1. Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) 2. Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) 3. Severe Learning Difficulty (SLD) 4. Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) 5. Physical Difficulties (PD) Bradford offers a range of educational provision to meet the needs of Children and Young People with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). -
