Investor Presentation June 2018 Cautionary Statement with Respect to Forward-Looking Statements Investor Presentation June 2018 Cautionary Statement with Respect to Forward-Looking Statements Ver. 2018-11-21 In the presentation that follows and in related comments by Hyundai Motor’s management, our use of the words “expect,” “anticipate,” “project,” “estimate,” “forecast,” “objective,” “plan,” “goal,” “outlook,” “target,” “pursue” and similar expressions is intended to identify forward looking statements. The financial data discussed herein are presented on a preliminary basis before the audit from our Independent Auditor; final data will be included in HMC’s Independent auditor’s report. While these statements represent our current judgment on what the future may hold, and we believe these judgments are reasonable, actual results may differ materially due to numerous important factors. Such factors include, among others, the following : changes in economic conditions, currency exchange rates or political stability; shortages of fuel, labor strikes or work stoppages; market acceptance of the corporation’s new products; significant changes in the competitive environment; changes in laws, regulations and tax rates; and the ability of the corporation to achieve reductions in cost and employment levels to realize production efficiencies and implement capital expenditures at levels and times planned by management. We do not intend or assume any obligation to update any forward-looking statement, which speaks only as of the date on which it is made. 1 Current Status of HMC Balanced Growth Global Sales Trend Brand Value Growth (Unit: 1,000 vehicles) (Unit: US$ in Billions) 3.0% CAGR ’10-’17 Focus on Value Growth Strategy 4,844 4,920 (U$ 5B in ‘10 → 13.5B in ’18, 125.4%↑) 4,621 4,835 4,392 4,537 4,099 25 24.4% 3,701 19.3% 20.5% 30% 20 15.6% 11.1% 20% 15 8.5% 5.1% 10 2.6% 10% 0% 5 6.0 7.5 9.0 10.4 11.3 12.5 13.2 13.5 0 -10% 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 HMC Brand Value (Billion US$) HMC Value Growth (%) Source : Company data (Retail sales excluding CKD sales) Source : Interbrand Initial Quality Study Vehicle Dependability Study (Unit: number of problems per unit) (Ranks among Non-Premium) (Unit: number of problems per unit) (Ranks among non-premium) 2 2 2 3 3 4 9 16 15 st 95 1 92 188 169 88 90 158 133 74 124 68 50 2015 2016 2017 2018 2018 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 (Ranks among Premium) Source : J.D. • Class Action Lawsuit Alleges
Hyundai Genesis SUV Shudders and ‘Uncontrollably Veers,’ Class Action Lawsuit Alleges June 10, 2021 Owners of the Hyundai Genesis SUV thought they were buying “true luxury,” but instead got a vehicle that uncontrollably veers off the road while driving at moderate speeds, a new nationwide class action lawsuit alleges. Plaintiff Dr. Barbara Feinstein filed the class action lawsuit against Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Motor America, and Genesis Motor America LLC Wednesday in a Maryland federal court, alleging violations of Maryland and federal laws. She says the trio are the designers, manufactures, distributors, sellers and promoters of Genesis automobiles – Hyundai/Genesis’ proclaimed, “luxury line of automobiles.” In 2021, Hyundai/Genesis introduced its first ever SUV, the Genesis GV-80, which is the Class Vehicle, and was marketed as being “equipped with high-performance capabilities that make for fun, powerful and truly dynamic driving on or off road.” Unfortunately, consumers have not experienced the high-performance capabilities that Hyundai/Genesis promised, Feinstein alleges. “Consumers, such as Plaintiff, who purchased or leased a Hyundai/Genesis GV-80 SUV, have instead experienced dangerous instability, shuddering, vibrations and uncontrolled veering of their SUVs, while driving at moderate speeds.” Feinstein alleges Hyundai/Genesis knew of the defects in the SUVs, and in June 2020 confirmed that it had to halt distribution of the diesel Genesis GV-80 SUV due to “vibration issues” of the engine. “Despite this knowledge, however,

The US Automotive Product Pipeline Car Wars 2020-2023 The Rise (and Fall) of the Crossover? Equity | 10 May 2019 Car Wars thesis and investment relevance Car Wars is an annual proprietary study that assesses the relative strength of each automaker’s product pipeline in the US. The purpose is to quantify industry product trends, and then relate our findings to investment decisions. Our thesis is fairly straightforward: we believe replacement rate drives showroom age, which drives market United States Autos/Car Manufacturers share, which drives profits and stock prices. OEMs with the highest replacement rate and youngest showroom age have generally gained share from model years 2004-19. John Murphy, CFA Research Analyst Ten key findings of our study MLPF&S +1 646 855 2025 1. Product activity remains reasonably robust across the industry, but the ramp into a [email protected] softening market will likely drive overcrowding and profit pressure. Aileen Smith Research Analyst 2. New vehicle introductions are 70% CUVs and Light Trucks, and just 24% Small and MLPF&S Mid/Large Cars. The material CUV overweight (45%) will likely pressure the +1 646 743 2007 [email protected] segment’s profitability to the low of passenger cars, and/or will leave dealers with a Yarden Amsalem dearth of entry level product to offer, further increasing an emphasis on used cars. Research Analyst MLPF&S 3. Product cadence overall continues to converge, making the market increasingly [email protected] competitive, which should drive incremental profit pressure across the value chain. Gwen Yucong Shi 4.
