Pop 2 a second packet for popheads written by Kevin Kodama Tossups 1. Palmistry discussed this project with the artist on the radio show The Candy Shop. A song from this project that goes “blue summers sitting high in the window” repeats the same word 96 times. Another song from this project kicks off with the words “I’m so bored” and describes the artist’s lazy routine. A <1> single from this album features synthesizers that sound like crashing waves alongside lyrics like “I know in the future / We won’t see each other”. This album’s lead single is a glitch-pop ballad called <2> “forever”, and its cover art shows the artist lying on a bed holding a camera. For ten points, name this quarantine concept album that was created in six weeks by Charli XCX. ANSWER: how i’m feeling now 2. This song’s (A-A-F) (A-A-E) (A-A-D) [read separately] bass line is briefly played by a sawtooth wave synthesizer right before its second chorus. The music video for this song is based on a Venn diagram in which four concepts intersect to form an orgasm, and it shows the singer ripping out an animated heart <1> . A Persian flute sample opens this track, and its singer references “the simulation we’re dreaming in”. This track repeatedly shouts “Come on!” and asks “who needs to go to sleep when I’ve got you next to <2> me?”. For ten points, name this second single from Dua Lipa’s sophomore album Future Nostalgia.

CAGE THE ELEPHANT’S NEW ALBUM UNPEELED OUT TODAY WORLDWIDE VIA RCA RECORDS RELEASES 21 LIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEOS TELL ME I’M PRETTY WINNER OF 2017 GRAMMY® AWARD FOR “BEST ROCK ALBUM” (New York – July 28, 2017) GRAMMY® Award winner Cage The Elephant’s new album, UNPEELED, is out today on RCA Records, and you can listen to it here. This week, to commemorate the release of this new album, Cage The Elephant rolls out 21 live performance videos worldwide, one for each song on UNPEELED. Highlights include premieres of "Rubber Ball" on Rolling Stone, “Cry Baby” on Entertainment Weekly, “Trouble” on Flaunt, “Punchin’ Bag” on Consequence Of Sound, and their covers of Daft Punk and Julian Casablancas’ “Instant Crush” on NME, Wreckless Eric’s “Whole Wide World” on Consequence of Sound, and The Strangler’s “Golden Brown,” on Billboard. You can find all premieres here and watch all of the “Unpeeled” videos here. UNPEELED was recorded over a series of intimate shows in cities including Los Angeles, Washington DC, Knoxville, and Nashville where the band performed in a stripped-down arrangement with a string quartet and additional percussion. UNPEELED features twenty-one tracks: eighteen curated songs from their past four albums plus three reimagined versions of existing songs. Said front man Matt Shultz about the inspiration behind the album: “Many times you’re adding sonic layers looking for something to hide behind, and what you don’t realize is that that vulnerability and that nakedness might be the most compelling and interesting thing about the song.” Cage The Elephant has a number of confirmed festival dates in the US and will perform at Forecastle Festival, Lollapalooza, Osheaga Music & Arts, Mempho Fest and Cal Jam with The Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age.

  • 19 Like a Gang
19 LIKE A GANG JESSE MALIN: The thing with the Strokes is they were a real band. A band should be a gang, running down the street, chasing a bus, breaking windows, breaking hearts. Those guys had that. NICK VALENSI: We felt like a gang. NIKOLAI FRAITURE: We thought that’s what a band was. ALBERT HAMMOND JR.: That was something we actually really thought about. I remember being like, “No, we have to all go together.” When we walk down the street and they see five guys, people would yell out, “The Beatles!” The idea is, if they’re yelling that out and they don’t even know who we are, they’ll come to the show. One day they’ll see something in Time Out and be like, “Oh, I remember those guys, they’re always hanging out and getting drunk.” Plus, it makes it easier if you’re trying to meet a girl: “Here’s a flyer.” It’s a starting point for a conversation. We made really, really cool flyers. JOE LEVY: I first met them at a Weezer show at Irving Plaza. Albert and Fab followed me into the bathroom to give me a gig flyer while I was at the urinal. J. P. BOWERSOCK: They had branding before people even talked about branding. One of them would mail out these elaborate postcards with brilliant graphics. And somewhere along the line, Julian had tried working for his father’s modeling agency, which didn’t work out, but when they had shows he persuaded some of the models to come.

  • “Aleeya” Penerapan Eksplorasi Bunyi Human Voice Dengan Synthesizer Vocoder Pada Komposisi Musik Neo Soul
