Questa data ricorda il giorno del 1950 in cui vi fu la presentazione da parte di Robert Schuman del piano di cooperazione economica, ideato da Jean Monnet ed esposto nella Dichiarazione Schuman, che segna l'inizio del processo d'integrazione europea con l'obiettivo di una futura unione federale. Bilancio elabora il bilancio dell’Unione europea, insieme al Consiglio; approva il bilancio di lungo periodo dell’UE, il "quadro finanziario pluriennale". Composizione Il numero di eurodeputati per ogni paese è approssimativamente proporzionale alla popolazione di ciascuno di essi, secondo i criteri della proporzionalità degressiva: un paese non può avere meno di 6 o più di 96 eurodeputati e il numero totale non può superare i 751 (750 più il presidente). I gruppi parlamentari sono organizzati in base allo schieramento politico, non in base alla nazionalità. Il presidente rappresenta il Parlamento europeo nei confronti delle altre istituzioni dell'UE e del mondo esterno e dà l'approvazione finale al bilancio dell'UE. Come funziona il Parlamento europeo? More particularly, in 2015 and 2019, the Commission outlaid EUR 73 3751 and EUR 87 436 respectively2 to the Institute under the Horizon 2020 Programme for promoting research funding. It would appear that the Institute is also receiving an additional EUR 88 433,753 for a virus epidemic monitoring project launched on 1 January 2020. Under the Horizon 2020 Programme, the Commission monitors project participants for up to two years after they receive funding4. This is designed to avert risk and prevent fraud. In view of this, can the Commission state: 1. whether this monitoring and verification mechanism has actually been activated, and what the results were; 2. whether, in the light of the funding contributed to the Institute and the lack of transparency on its part, it considers it necessary to put in place more effective controls in the post-funding phase; 3.

On 9 March the President of the European Council stated that the exporting of vaccines outside the Union was the result not only of business decisions made by the producing companies but also of a political strategy put in place by the European institutions to supply countries outside Europe with doses produced within the EU. Can the Commission therefore answer the following questions: 1. Can it confirm the accuracy of the above information? 2. Does it acknowledge that the delegation of powers from the Member States to the Commission to coordinate the procurement of vaccines was intended to ensure the Member States themselves had adequate supplies and not for possible exports outside the EU? 3.

However, on 15 February 2021 some new restrictions on the transit of commercial vehicles through Austria and Germany entered into force, with the requirement to produce a negative swab test carried out within 48 hours of arrival at the border. The new provisions have led to serious traffic disruptions, including the immediate formation of tailbacks at the Brenner Pass. Those measures, moreover, come on top of the pre-existing restrictions to the movement of heavy goods vehicles adopted through Tyrol by-law No 81/2019, the compatibility of which with EU law is already being considered by the Commission.
