Soltech's subsidiary NP-Gruppen signs framework agreement with HBV, which is estimated to be worth between 150-250 million SEK over three years NP-Gruppen has signed a framework agreement with HBV to supply sealing roofs. The contract period is 2019-12-19 - 2021-11-30 with the possibility of one or more extensions. NP-gruppens part of the framework agreement is estimated to be worth between 150-250 million SEK over three years and applies to 148 municipalities where NP-Gruppen is ranked as the 1st supplier. In 2019, the NP Group has systematically expanded its range of services with sealing roofs where the potential for solar energy is greater compared to sheet metal roofs. In the framework agreement, NP- Gruppen is ranked as the 1st supplier in the following counties, which includes a total of 148 municipalities: Södermanland County, Östermaland County, Jönköping County, Kronoberg County, Kalmar County, Gotland County, Halland County, Västra Götaland County, Jämtland County, Västerbotten county and Norrbotten county. HBV is a purchasing function for Sweden's public utility housing company consisting of just over 360 members. HBV conducts coordinated procurement for products and services related to construction, renovation and management of properties. HBV has sales of just over SEK 2 billion. Sweden andecologicalgovernance Sweden and ecological governance is about policies and strategies for Sweden and ecologically rational governance, and uses the Swedish case study to ask whether or not it is possible to move from a traditional environmental ecological governance policy to a broad, integrated pursuit of sustainable development, as illustrated through the ‘Sustainable Sweden’ programme. Straddling the fence The study begins by looking at the spatial dimensions of ecological governance, and goes on to consider the integration and effectiveness of sustainable development policies. Public procurement of buses in Kalmar County, Sweden Background and description of the good practice Kalmar County consists of a lot of farm land and a lot of livestock. Also the municipality of Kalmar and the isle of Öland are very popular holiday resorts. The city of Kalmar was e.g. voted to the best Swedish summer city for the third time. But at the same time the Baltic Sea suffers from over- fertilization. Especially the surplus of phosphorous is a problem. For example, on the isle of Öland, located near the cost, there are 2,5 cows per inhabitant. If the farmers wish to by more animals they have to buy more land which is a serious obstacle for them. Kalmar County represents 2,4 % of all the inhabitants in Sweden but stands for 25 % of chicken production and 12 % of milk production in the country making the farming a very important industry. Our politicians have recognized that biogas/bio-methane can be one of the solutions because it not only reduces the metane leaks from the farms but it also delivers a renewable fuel to our vehicles and digestate that can be certified as an ecological fertilizer. The public procurement is generally made for 8 + 2 years. Since the latest procurement was made in 2007, it was time for a new procurement. It covers all the 12 municipalities in the County and is administrated by the Regional Public Transport Administration whereas the final decisions are made by the politicians in the County Council, head of the transport administration.

BUSINESS R&D IN WESTERN SWEDEN 2020 33% of Sweden’s business R&D expenditure SEK 41BN business R&D expenditure 4.5% Business R&D as a share of GRP Sweden’s most concentrated region for innovation with 35 testbeds Sweden is a country that boasts considerable capacity for conducting research and development (R&D). Year after year, Sweden finishes near the top in surveys looking at how much money countries invest in research and development in relation to their GDP. In 2019, Sweden’s total R&D as a share of GDP stood at 3.4 percent, which corresponds to approximately SEK 171 billion. In terms of business R&D expenditure alone, the share of GDP was just over 2.4 percent (approximately SEK 123 billion). In international measurements conducted by the OECD, among others, this means that Sweden has the world’s third largest R&D budget in relation to its GDP.1 This is very impressive for a small, open economy like Sweden. What might Sweden’s R&D capacity entail? The empirical stream of innovation studies often analyses the relationship between R&D and innovation. Broadly speaking, the conclusions show that the more R&D companies conduct, the greater the likelihood of innovations being created and demanded on global markets, and of the companies’ productivity increasing. This in turn generates increased value and frees up resources, which can be reallocated to new jobs and technologies. The apple is not falling far from the tree in this respect, as Sweden’s innovation potential also appears to be exceptional in several international surveys by bodies such as the European Commission, WIPO and the OECD.2 So where is Sweden’s R&D conducted in companies and where are the country’s innovations and market-leading competitive products, services and processes created? In 2019, Västra Götaland’s share of the country’s population and companies stood at approximately 17 percent.
