MINNESOTA WILD FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The ’s (NHL) announced today that the Minnesota Wild Foundation will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the foundation’s inception beginning Tuesday, Feb. 11.

“We are especially thankful to all the Wild players, fans and donors for their support in helping us continue to create a greater State of Hockey,” said Minnesota Wild Foundation Executive Director Rachel Schuldt. “Without their continuous generosity every season for the last 20 years, our 10-year success would not be possible.”

In celebration of the milestone, the Minnesota Wild Foundation has a variety of initiatives planned, including:

Game Day Celebration The Wild will dedicate several elements of its game to celebrating the Minnesota Wild Foundation 10-year anniversary milestone when it hosts the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at . Members of the Wild Foundation’s board of directors will make the “Let’s Play Hockey!” announcement and participate in intermission interviews with WildVision hosts. Guests of Wild Foundation beneficiaries will also be in attendance at the game. Proceeds from Wild game magazine sales will benefit Eagan Youth Hockey Association and proceeds from the “Split the Pot Raffle” will benefit the Hobey Baker Memorial Award Foundation. Both Wild game magazine sales and “Split the Pot Raffle” are cornerstone Minnesota Wild Foundation fundraising opportunities that take place at every home game. Additionally, the Wild Foundation will unveil its 10th anniversary commemorative logo.

The Wild organization launched the Minnesota Wild Foundation in 2009 in order to dedicate its unique resources to support children’s medical causes and to advance youth hockey throughout the State of Hockey. Community giving has been a key part of the Wild’s identity since the team’s inception nearly 20 years ago. In its first ten years, the Minnesota Wild supported community initiatives through the 10,000 Rinks Foundation and then via the MSE Community Giving Fund, a donor advised fund of the Minnesota Community Foundation.

The Minnesota Wild Foundation board of director’s membership includes: Chair Pamela Wheelock, Vice Chair Scott Peterson, Wild Director of Player Development Brad Bombardir, Crystal Boudreau, Kara Guerin, Wild Assistant Coach Darby Hendrickson, Christopher Leipold, Wild owner and Chairman Craig Leipold, Jay Lund, Steve McDaniels, Bennett Morgan, Ann Mulholland and Secretary Dan Scott.

About Minnesota Wild Foundation The 2019-20 season marks the tenth season of giving for the Minnesota Wild Foundation. With support from Wild players, fans and donors, the Wild Foundation has supported children’s medical related causes, serves as the largest non-member funding source for Minnesota Hockey, and has provided important fundraising opportunities for youth hockey associations across the state.
