Dr. Moira’s Message Dear Wonderful Ones, I can hardly believe that we are moving out of spring and into summer already! How truly amazing this time of year is! I am loving the glories of spring and all the joy of its abundance. So, the year is moving right along, and the question came to my mind today: Am I moving right along with it? Where am I in the process? Am I achieving my goals? Am I getting my “To Do” list done? Changing what needs to be changed? Letting go of what needs to be released? My questions go on! Where are you in this great unfolding process I wonder? It is a good practice I find, to ask myself challenging and mindful questions from time to time. The process pulls me right back to being present now and taking measure of whether or not I am on track. Life is so precious and not to be squandered in worry and concern, regret and dissatisfaction. Looking in on myself regularly helps me to appreciate and celebrate each day no matter what! I trust this is what you are doing, appreciating and celebrating something in your day, every day. Of course you are! This month in our Center for Spiritual Living Global Community, we are looking at COMPASSION as our focus in our lives. A compassionate heart indicates the beauty and grace of our humanity. It stems from the best of ourselves. Compassion is a most loving way to be the givingness of The Divine, as we minister to each other. It is one of the most beautiful ways to demonstrate love. Compassion is a loaded word. It is the fullness of what it is to live wisely and well. Within it are all the ingredients of a good life: kindness, understanding, generosity, good- ness, comfort and more. Love, of course, always being the movement through it all. It calls us to be our unified selves and recognize The Divine in all. So, we are being called right now to live on a higher conscious level of awareness and be what we are designed to be - Love in action! On my mind too right now is the call by many groups to cease complaining for a week. On the Today Show, the challenge was given to go a week without complaining. This is a major challenge for most of us. Society in general seems to be addicted to complaining and gossiping. There is a close link between these two tendencies. The Pope this weekend was yet again call- ing for an end to gossiping. So it is in the air for us to sense those energies and decide to avoid them. It certainly would make us happier, healthier and bring more peace and love to our world. This is the ABC of spirituality, the bread and butter stuff of life. I would love to think that we as a Spiritual Community are onboard with these challenges and commit to making the endeavor. Better when we do it with friends and have the support of reminders from each. I read somewhere recently, “What you articulate, you demonstrate.” In his book, “A Complaint Free World”, Will Bowen reminds us of some well-known thoughts on the above statement. Some of them are: “As you believe, so it is done unto you.” (Matthew 8:13) “The Universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it.” (Marcus Aurelius). “We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think.” (Buddha) “Change your thoughts and you change your world.” (Norman Vincent Peale). “You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.” (James Allen). 2 Continued There are many more wonderful reminders in this great look of wisdom that call us higher in the way we think about ourselves, each other and our world. Well worth the read! He asks us all the questions: “What would our lives be like without the “ear pollution of complaints?” “Imagine”, he says “twenty-one consecutive days without complaining, criticizing or gossiping.” Mr. Bowen reminds us that to be thus engaged only focuses on what we don’t have or want and annoys us. Remember, he says our thoughts create our lives and our words indicate what we are thinking”. Remember too, Mr. Bowen said: “We are all self-made, but only the successful will admit it.” Well, these wonderful reminders are indeed spiritual food for thought. I know we all want a positive imprint on our world by means of how we live our lives. For that to happen, our thoughts must become our prayers and our actions blessings. What kind of ripple in the great ocean of humanity do you and I want to make? I believe I know the answer to this question, and I know you do too. So, let us go forward now and light up the world with our commitment to Peace on Earth, Goodwill in and through all. You Dear Hearts are amazing, powerful beings and are indeed the Captain of your Life’s Ship and the Director of your glorious Soul. We know our thoughts, our mindset, our mental and emotional atmospheres set our life’s course. Let us together steer straight ahead, fuel ourselves with loving kindness, healthy thoughts and happy feelings, and celebrate the great adventurous voyage. Why not! We are fully equipped to do so. Thank you for all the good you bring to our world and all your endeavors to create a safe and compassionate world that works for ALL LIFE. You and I have been called, and every day we get to choose if we will respond. When I think bout this, I remember the Universe always says YES! So, can I! Enjoy every day as we move out of spring and into summer, and know that you are loved and cherished. Like physical fitness, it is not a one-time experience; it needs your ongoing commitment. To stay spiritually fit means living in truth and trust, i.e., being yourself at the deepest level in everything you do and bringing all of you to your life experiences.
