Jack and the beanstalk Once upon a time there was boy called Jack who lived with his mother. They were poor so Jack took his cow to the market. There he met a stranger. He swapped his cow for five magic beans. When Jack got home his mum was cross. She threw the beans out of the window. The next morning Jack saw a giant beanstalk. He climbed and he climbed, and he climbed. At the top he met a giantess and he hid. “Fee Fi Fo Fum watch out everyone here I come!” roared the giant. He sat down for his supper. He ate 100 boiled potatoes and 100 chocolate biscuits. Then feeling a bit happier he started to count his coins. Soon he was snoozing. Jack snatched the coins and raced down the beanstalk. The next day, Jack climbed and he climbed and he climbed the beanstalk. “Fee Fi Fo Fum watch out everyone here I come!” roared the giant. He sat down for his supper. He ate 200 baked potatoes and 200 jellies. Then feeling a bit happier he got out his hen that laid golden eggs. Soon he was snoozing. Jack snatched the hen and raced down the beanstalk. The next day Jack climbed beanstalk once more. “Fee Fi Fo Fum watch out everyone here I come!” roared the giant. He sat down for his supper. He ate 300 roast potatoes and 300 cream cakes. Then feeling a bit happier he got out his golden harp. Soon he was snoozing. Jack snatched the harp and raced down the beanstalk. The giant woke up and started to chase Jack. Jack’s mother gave him an axe. He chopped and he chopped and he chopped and he didn’t stop until the beanstalk came down. Jack and his mother were never poor again. .
