Invasions happened through guns and battles but also through the extent of foreign languages and culture ineducation. The education sector and structures that hosted it, passed through stages of transformations, developments and regressions dependent on the course of history and the forces of foreign countries shaping it. The main objective of this research is to highlight the Albanian school buildings through two parallel points of view: an outlookthrough the course of history and analyzed as structures. This article tries to explore the changes that occurred in educational buildings in Albania.Itfocuses on the influences, problems and issues that have emerged, during the several invasions and how these influences have affected the architecture of Albanian’s schools. This analysis is followed by a discussion of the architecture’s development and the typology, standards, structures and shapes of this category of buildings focusing mostly on the last century, trying to fill the gap of history and knowledge for this important group of edifices. In the late 1980’s Steve Yzerman was a perennial top scorer in the National Hockey League. In spite of that, the Red Wings couldn’t win in the playoffs. That was until their coach asked Yzerman to change his playing style. This change, while costing him individual statistics, would turn him into a defensive superstar and transform the Red Wings into Stanley Cup Champs. As a member of TEAM CATHOLIC it isn’t about individual accolades but is about the team. We want all people to know that they are valued and that they are part of this diverse and sometimes quirky family we call the Church.

LONERGAN ON THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY Msgr. Richard M. Liddy In 1951 Bernard Lonergan wrote an article entitled "The Role of a Catholic University in the Modern World." Originally published in French, it can be found in Lonergan's Collection.1 Published at the same time he was working on his magnum opus, Insight, it reflects the basic thrust of that major work. Some years later, in 1959, in a series of lectures in Cincinnati on the philosophy of education Lonergan touched again upon the subject of the Catholic university.2 Here he adverted to the fact that of its very nature the whole immense Catholic school system is rooted in a "supernaturalist vision" that is in conflict with the dominant philosophies of education of modern times. The fact is that we have a Catholic educational system, with primary schools, high schools, colleges and universities. That is the concrete fact and it exists because it is Catholic.3 What Lonergan finds lacking is a philosophical vision capable of defending the existence of the Catholic school system. Educational theorists tend to be divided into "modernists" whose appeal is to human experience and scientific verification and "traditionalists" who appeal to immutable truths transcending scientific verification.

    Strenna 2019 «So that my joy may be in you » (Jn 15,11) HOLINESS FOR YOU TOO My Dear Brothers and Sisters, my Dear Salesian Family, Continuing our century-old tradition, at the beginning of this New Year 2019 I address myself to each one of you, in every part of the “Salesian world” that as the Salesian Family we constitute in more than 140 countries. I do so while giving a commentary on a subject very familiar to us, with a title taken directly from the Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Francis on the call to holiness in today’s world: Gaudete et Exsultate1. In choosing this subject and this title I want to translate into our own language and in the light of our charismatic sensitivity the strong appeal to holiness that Pope Francis has addressed to the whole Church.2 Therefore I want to emphasise those points that are typically “our own” in the context of our Salesian spirituality, those shared by all the 31 groups of our Salesian Family as the charismatic inheritance received from the Holy Spirit through/by means of our beloved Father Don Bosco, who will certainly help us to live our lives with the same deep joy that comes from the Lord: «So that my joy may be in you » (Jn 15,11). Howard Department of Ministry, Fuller Theological Seminary 62421 Rabbit Trail, Montrose, CO 81403, USA; [email protected] Received: 1 June 2019; Accepted: 3 August 2019; Published: 21 August 2019 Abstract: Since Herbert Grundmann’s 1935 Religious Movements in the Middle Ages, interest in the Beguines has grown significantly. Yet we have struggled whether to call Beguines “religious” or not. My conviction is that the Beguines are one manifestation of an impulse found throughout Christian history to live a form of life that resembles Christian monasticism without founding institutions of religious life. It is this range of less institutional yet seriously committed forms of life that I am here calling the “Beguine Option.” In my essay, I will sketch this “Beguine Option” in its varied expressions through Christian history. Having presented something of the persistent past of the Beguine Option, I will then present an introduction to forms of life exhibited in many of the expressions of what some have called “new monasticism” today, highlighting the similarities between movements in the past and new monastic movements in the present.
