The activities of the EU legislator do not, in fact, take into account all cases in which sexual abuse is directly consumed online, i.e. where child pornography is provided by the child following the establishment of a relationship of trust between predator and victim. Furthermore, uncontrolled use of the internet can facilitate access to content that is not suitable for children, such as websites that glorify practices relating to anorexia and bulimia, including websites that incite suicide and self-harm.     Hon. Mr President of the European Parliament, Dear David Sassoli, Since March, when the outbreak of COVID-19 intensified in Europe, the functioning of the European Parliament (EP) has changed dramatically, due to the sanitary measures applied. We understand the inevitability of the contingency plan, taking into account the need to prevent infection and the spread of the virus and to protect the health and lives of people. Six months later, the functioning of the EP is gradually returning to normal. However, there are services whose unavailability seriously impairs parliamentary work, namely the interpretation service. The European Union (EU) has 24 official languages and all deserve the same respect and treatment. We recognize that the number of languages available in committee meeting rooms has been increasing, but even so, more than half of the languages still have no interpretation. Multilingualism is a right enshrined in the Treaties that allows Members to express themselves in their own language. Now, that is not happening and we are concerned that the situation will continue, even taking into account the expected workflow in the commissions after these atypical six months. In this sense, we appeal, once again, to you, the President of the EP for the application of the letter and the spirit of the principle of multilingualism, finding solutions that respect this principle and that allow the use of any of the 24 official languages of the EU. The expression of each deputy in her/his own language is a priority so that there can be conditions to fully exercise the mandate for which she/he was elected and a condition of respect for the citizens who elected her/him.

Additionally, the Regulation should help strengthening the European Union’s strategic resilience and global economic competitiveness, maintaining its energy security and affordability, boosting growth and job creation and supporting a just and inclusive energy transition that leaves nobody behind. However, to what extent the Taxonomy Regulation will ultimately meet these expectations depends primarily on the technical screening criteria (TSC) defined in the Delegated Act on climate change mitigation and adaptation. We understand the European Commission will publish it later this month, whereupon the European Parliament may make full use of its scrutinizing prerogatives under Article 290 TFEU. In advance of its publication, we would like to share with you some of our major concerns regarding the revised draft version of this delegated act. Firstly, it is indispensable that the Taxonomy Regulation takes into account transition at the energy system level and supports the most cost-efficient decarbonisation pathway for each Member State in line with the principle of technology neutrality. In this context, it is key to acknowledge the role of gaseous fuels.

    Elezioni Europee 2019. I candidati vicini al mondo venatorio A pochi giorni dalle elezioni facciamo il punto sui candidati che hanno espresso la volontà di impegnarsi ad affrontare le prossime sfide che attendono il mondo venatorio a livello europeo Roma, 24 maggio 2019 – Manca ormai poco all’appuntamento elettorale che porterà gli italiani ad esprimere le loro preferenze per i candidati alle Elezioni Europee del 26 maggio. In vista dello scadere della campagna riteniamo utile segnalare quanti fra i candidati per un seggio a Bruxelles hanno condiviso il manifesto a difesa dell’attività venatoria e della cultura rurale elaborato dalle Associazioni Venatorie riconosciute riunite nella Cabina di regia venatoria assieme al CNCN Comitato Nazionale Caccia e Natura. Numerosi e autorevoli esponenti della maggior parte degli schieramenti in campo (Lega, Fratelli d’Italia, PD, Forza Italia, +Europa) lo hanno sottoscritto, oppure hanno condiviso i contenuti nelle loro dichiarazioni pubbliche. Molti di loro sono vicini da anni all’associazionismo del settore e si sono da sempre espressi in favore del corretto svolgimento dell’attività venatoria, altri sono nomi nuovi ma paiono sinceramente vicini alla ruralità e ai suoi valori.
