  • APOCALYPSE & CHILL the End Has Never Sounded Better. Dutch
APOCALYPSE & CHILL The end has never sounded better. Dutch symphonic rockers DELAIN have been releasing and performing their signature catchy melodic metal sound worldwide for over a decade now. The six albums on their name include guest performances from the titans of the scene, among others: Sharon Den Adel (WITHIN TEMPTATION), Marco Hietala (NIGHTWISH), Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), Burton C. Bell (FEAR FACTORY).Having toured the globe with bands like NIGHTWISH, SABATON and WITHIN TEMPTATION, and having rocked festivals like WACKEN, GRASPOP, DOWNLOAD and FORTAROCK, DELAIN have strongly carved their niche within the scene. APOCALYPSE & CHILL is the follow up to their chart hitting record Moonbathers. The album carefully yet powerfully weaves together violent riffs, synth heavy themes and fully orchestrated compositions, while the vocals possess a fresh frenzy that is sure to convince Delain fans and new listeners alike. Running as a red thread through the album thematically is a sense of impending doom and human indifference to it. “We think this APOCALYPSE & CHILL will surprise our listeners” the band states. “It is heavy with new influences and we’re really curious to find out how our audience will respond to that. However, it also deepens the sounds and atmospheres that people have come to know from us. This album is taking all of that to the next level. We are very excited about this release and can’t wait to share it with the world.” The album brings listeners thirteen brand new tracks, including guest appearance by Beast In Black’s Yannis Papadoupolis, and three orchestral tracks of film score quality, that will transport listeners to a different world.

  • Mayan Biography 2013
MaYaN Biography 2016 Dutch Symphonic Death Metallers MaYaN have released their second full length album 'Antagonise' in 2014 through Nuclear Blast. The album showcases the current condition of our society, in which our freedom and privacy are further limited. The lies and propaganda from governments all over the world, the spying, a so called 'war on terror', the insinuated 'freedom' we get just to keep us under control… This translated through Mark's sharp view and the band's characteristic style of symphonic progressive (death) metal for maximum expression results in the perfect and most powerful and confronting album possible to date. With their first release 'Quarterpast' (2011) MaYaN got instant recognition in the media as has proven by the excellent reviews, in-depth interviews with many provoking questions about the band‘s point of view and raving reactions of fans throughout the world. After very successful tours through parts of Europe, Central and South America plus playing renowned festivals like ProgPower USA, Graspop Open Air, Heaven & Hell (Mx), Zwarte Cross and Prog Power&Metal fest for thousands of fans, the band put themselves on the map instantly. Hundreds of thousands of views and confronting discussions from all over the world on their video `War on Terror` prove they set the world to think and hopefully act about what is really going on nowadays. MaYaN was conceived early 2010 by versatile musician and Epica mastermind Mark Jansen and old friend, ex-After Forever keyboardist Jack Driessen to write an album in the style they always really wanted. Mark asked guitarist Frank Schiphorst (Symmetry, Christmas Metal Symphony) to join in.

  • EUROSONIC IS COMING HOME - HOSTING NATION HOLLAND IS THIS YEAR’S FOCUS COUNTRY by Robbert Tilli
AT THE 25 TH ANNIVERSARY OF EUROSONIC NOORDERSLAG: - EUROSONIC IS COMING HOME - HOSTING NATION HOLLAND IS THIS YEAR’S FOCUS COUNTRY By Robbert Tilli * EUROSONIC NOORDERSLAG CONFERENCE JANUARY 12, 13, 14, 15, 2011 This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Eurosonic Noorderslag music conference and showcase festival. And after years with interesting focuses on countries such as Italy, Belgium and Norway, finally Eurosonic Noorderslag is coming home. Hosting nation Holland is this year’s focus country. Birthday boy is pushing the boat out with a presentation of a range of great Dutch bands. Holland’s musical history in a nutshell The topic of the ‘possible existence of a history of Dutch music’ sometimes generates interesting discussions at the bar at the international music conferences. There’s always a group of registrants that starts singing Golden Earring’s 1972 global monster smash Radar Love straightaway, and there’s that group of hipsters who deliberately start staring ignorantly. ‘Dutch music? Yeah, yeah,’ they say. What’s that? ‘Name a few bands then?’ In recent years we’ve seen a lot of true aficionados of Dutch pop, rock and dance, but also we’ve met the sceptics, who simply denied the existence of such a thing as Dutch music. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van Gogh, okay, they acknowledge the Dutch masters of painting. But pop, rock, dance? ‘No, never heard of.’ It’s time to prove them wrong. Holland is focus country, and you’ll know it. To be fair, the awareness of Dutch pop, rock and dance history could do with a little boost.

  • Music in the Netherlands Bleeping Radar 18 Year Old Superstar School of Rock a Goldmine Waiting to Be Found
Music in The Netherlands Ever since it’s declaration of independence in 1579 the Netherlands have always been in close contact with the rest of the world. Sandwiched in between Belgium, Germany and the North Sea the Netherlands used to sail out to explore the outside world, while opening its doors for outsiders. In arts, Holland is famous for its paintings by Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Vermeer. Bleeping radar When it comes to music, the Netherlands have long been known for Golden Earring (hit: „Radar Love“), The George Baker Selection („Little Green Bag“, „Una Paloma Blanca“) or Shocking Blue („Venus“). In recent years this has changed, thanks to the massive worldwide success of Dutch Dance Music. Producers/DJ’s like Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Fedde LeGrand, Ferry Corsten, Chuckie, Laidback Luke or Tiësto are massively popular all over the globe, including that country every musician dreams of conquering: the United States. 18 year old superstar It’s not just these guys who are making waves abroad. The next generation of producers and DJs are ready to follow in their footsteps. They go by the names of Hardwell, Sander van Doorn, Nicky Romero, Dash Berlin and Martin Garrix, an 18 year old producer/DJ who graduated this year from one of Hollands acclaimed music schools. School of Rock Each year, music schools like the Rockacademie in Tilburg, Codarts in Rotterdam, the Amsterdam Conservatory, ARTez in Enschede and the Minerva Academy for Pop Culture in Leeuwarden bring forth new talent that fi nds a place in the Dutch music scene. Martin Garrix (dance, one of the headliners of Coachella festival 2014), Mister and Mississippi (folk-rock, toured and released their selftitled debut album in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2014), Taymir (Britrock, toured the UK in 2014) or Birth Of Joy (bluesy rock’n’roll, toured all over the world in 2013 and 2014) are some recent examples of graduates that managed to gain success outside of the Netherlands.
