  • APOCALYPSE & CHILL the End Has Never Sounded Better. Dutch
APOCALYPSE & CHILL The end has never sounded better. Dutch symphonic rockers DELAIN have been releasing and performing their signature catchy melodic metal sound worldwide for over a decade now. The six albums on their name include guest performances from the titans of the scene, among others: Sharon Den Adel (WITHIN TEMPTATION), Marco Hietala (NIGHTWISH), Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), Burton C. Bell (FEAR FACTORY).Having toured the globe with bands like NIGHTWISH, SABATON and WITHIN TEMPTATION, and having rocked festivals like WACKEN, GRASPOP, DOWNLOAD and FORTAROCK, DELAIN have strongly carved their niche within the scene. APOCALYPSE & CHILL is the follow up to their chart hitting record Moonbathers. The album carefully yet powerfully weaves together violent riffs, synth heavy themes and fully orchestrated compositions, while the vocals possess a fresh frenzy that is sure to convince Delain fans and new listeners alike. Running as a red thread through the album thematically is a sense of impending doom and human indifference to it. “We think this APOCALYPSE & CHILL will surprise our listeners” the band states. “It is heavy with new influences and we’re really curious to find out how our audience will respond to that. However, it also deepens the sounds and atmospheres that people have come to know from us. This album is taking all of that to the next level. We are very excited about this release and can’t wait to share it with the world.” The album brings listeners thirteen brand new tracks, including guest appearance by Beast In Black’s Yannis Papadoupolis, and three orchestral tracks of film score quality, that will transport listeners to a different world.

GRIMMELMANN, THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS A COMPUTER-AUTHORED WORK, 39 COLUM. J.L. & ARTS 403 (2016) There’s No Such Thing as a Computer-Authored Work— And It’s a Good Thing, Too* James Grimmelmann** INTRODUCTION I would like to talk about computer-authored works—I would like to, except that they don’t exist. Copyright law doesn’t recognize computer programs as authors, and it shouldn’t.1 Some day it might make sense to, but if that day ever comes, copyright will be the least of our concerns. Instead, I will say something about why computer authorship is such a “bad penny of a question,” to use Annemarie Bridy’s felicitous phrase, even though it is so utterly speculative.2 The scholarship pondering the possibility of computer- authored works is surprisingly extensive, even though no one has ever exhibited even one work that could plausibly claim to have a computer for an “author” in the sense that the Copyright Act uses the term.3 * This Essay is based on a talk that was given on October 2, 2015, at the Kernochan Center Annual Symposium at Columbia Law School. ** Professor of Law, University of Maryland. My thanks to Aislinn Black, Annemarie Bridy, Bruce Boyden, Timothy McGovern, Christina Spiesel, and the participants in the Kernochan Center Symposium “Copyright Outside the Box” for their suggestions. Hu 121 SALÁMÁN & ABSÁL AN ALLEGORY TRANSLATED FROM THE PERSIAN OF JÁMI BY EDWARD FITZGERALD LONDON ALEXANDER MORING LTD. THE DE LA MORE PRESS 298 REGENT STREET W MDCCCCIV [1904] This is a translation of an allegorical Sufi poem by the Persian Sufi poet Jami. Nur ad-Din Abd ar-Rahman Jami, (b. 1441 d. 1492), lived in what is today Afghanistan and Uzebekistan. The translator, Edward Fitzgerald, is best known for his translation of the Rubayyat of Omar Khayyam. This book has not been reprinted since it was published in the early 20th century, although the poem has been reprinted in conjunction with other Fitzgerald works. Scanned, proofed and formatted at sacred-texts.com by John Bruno Hare, September 2008. This text is in the public domain in the US because it was published prior to 1923. MY DEAR COWELL, Two years ago, when we began (I for the first time) to read this Poem together, I wanted you to translate it, as something that should interest a few who are worth interesting. You, however, did not see the way clear then, and had Aristotle pulling you by one Shoulder and Prakrit Vararuchi by the other, so as indeed to have hindered you up to this time completing a Version of Hafiz’ best Odes which you had then happily begun. So, continuing to like old Jámi more and more, I must try my hand upon him; and here is my reduced Version of a small Original. What Scholarship it has is yours, my Master in Persian and so much beside; who are no further answerable for all than by well liking and wishing publisht what you may scarce have Leisure to find due fault with.

  • Mayan Biography 2013
MaYaN Biography 2016 Dutch Symphonic Death Metallers MaYaN have released their second full length album 'Antagonise' in 2014 through Nuclear Blast. The album showcases the current condition of our society, in which our freedom and privacy are further limited. The lies and propaganda from governments all over the world, the spying, a so called 'war on terror', the insinuated 'freedom' we get just to keep us under control… This translated through Mark's sharp view and the band's characteristic style of symphonic progressive (death) metal for maximum expression results in the perfect and most powerful and confronting album possible to date. With their first release 'Quarterpast' (2011) MaYaN got instant recognition in the media as has proven by the excellent reviews, in-depth interviews with many provoking questions about the band‘s point of view and raving reactions of fans throughout the world. After very successful tours through parts of Europe, Central and South America plus playing renowned festivals like ProgPower USA, Graspop Open Air, Heaven & Hell (Mx), Zwarte Cross and Prog Power&Metal fest for thousands of fans, the band put themselves on the map instantly. Hundreds of thousands of views and confronting discussions from all over the world on their video `War on Terror` prove they set the world to think and hopefully act about what is really going on nowadays. MaYaN was conceived early 2010 by versatile musician and Epica mastermind Mark Jansen and old friend, ex-After Forever keyboardist Jack Driessen to write an album in the style they always really wanted. Mark asked guitarist Frank Schiphorst (Symmetry, Christmas Metal Symphony) to join in.
