tian (Texas) 43-12, earning a four-game Single Game series sweep. It was DSU’s first four-game

series sweep this season, their second

straight year that it occurred (swept Kan- sas Christian in a four-game series last

season).

The Trojans defeated the Crusaders 13-1 and 10-4 on March 12, followed by 2-1 and 18-6 wins on March 13.

Esai Hernandez sparked DSU’s offense attack by going 7-of-13 at the plate with

four doubles and drove in four runs. Ryan McDaniel and Jace Pribyl each added six hits.

Samuel Drummond blasted two home runs during the four-game series and drove in five runs for the Trojans. Chris Burke, Mason Macaluso, Jackson O’Neal, and Chris Kropuenske each added a home run. Macaluso collected six RBIs in the series. Dakota State finished the series with a batting average of .377

and a slugging percentage of .585.

Kahlil Tilbury, Devin DeBoer, Jacob Yaeger and Burke each recorded a pitching victory for DSU. DeBoer tossed his first complete game victory. PRIBYL EARNS SECOND NSAA BASEBALL WEEKLY HONOR Madison, S.D. (March 15, 2021)—Jace Pribyl of Dakota State (S.D.) earned his second North Star Athletic Association Baseball Player-of-the-Week award this season. The Trojans went 5-1 record for the week, including a four-game series sweep over Dallas Christian (Texas).

Pribyl extended his to 11 games (all CAN’T FIND IT HERE...YOU games played this season). He recorded multi-hit

games three times during the week.

Pribyl recorded a batting average of .500 (9-of-18 at-bats) and a slugging percentage of .722 for the week. Derrion Hardie is in his second season as the head base- ball coach at Dakota State University. He begins the 2020- 2021 season with an overall record of 656-331 as a head coach

at the collegiate and high school levels.

Hardie’s first season as the head baseball coach was cut short early in 2020 due to COVID-19. The Trojans finished the short- ened season with a record of 6-9 and were on track to have the

program’s best season in five years. COACH HARDIE YEAR-BY-YEAR RECORDS Academically, the Trojans had 4 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar- Athletes and 15 Academic All-Conference athletes. Year Overall Conf./Finish On the mound, the pitching staff lowered the team’s ERA by 2021 2020 6-9 N/A 3.7 runs from the previous year and had two pitchers, juniors Devin DeBoer and Carver Hultgren, Totals 6-9 0-0 earn Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week honors. Hultgren pitched the program’s first no-hitter since Overall 6-9 0-0 2005.

Offensively, the team’s batting average increased 30-points from the previous season and freshman, Jace Pribyl, finished ranked as one of the top players in the NAIA in batting average hitting .420. Sen- ior, Esai Hernandez, finished ranked 18th in doubles in the NAIA.

While at Northwestern, he coached two NAIA All-Americans.

Prior to coming to Dakota State, Hardie was the head baseball coach at Ecclesia College (AR) where he was hired to lead the baseball program from ground zero. He launched the program in 2013 and pioneered the Royals to six consecutive winning seasons and post-season berths that included exe- cuting a five-year vision plan to qualify for the World Series in 2017. They finished the season ranked 7th in the nation after participating in the World Series.

Hardie arguably had his most successful season in 2018, finishing 35-18. The squad broke most of the team’s statistical records, highlighted by a .330 team batting average and 3.27 team earned run average. The team also achieved a 3.2 team grade point average that ran the program’s streak to twelve straight semesters with a 3.0 or higher team GPA.

Hardie engineered 175 wins in his six seasons as the head coach at Ecclesia College. During that time, he produced 6 players that went on to sign professional contracts, 5 All-Americans, 18 All- Region, 24 All-Conference, 2 Conference Player-of-the-Year, and 2 Conference Pitcher-of-the-Year

selections.

As the head baseball coach at Northwestern College (Iowa) in the early 2000’s, Hardie’s teams fin- ished at the top of the Great Plains Athletic Conference in team offense and defense. His Red Raider teams were most known for their offensive production. The Red Raiders earned national recognition in the NAIA’s Top 20 in various team statistical categories, including his 2003 team that finished 16th in the nation with 43 home runs. That same year, Hardie had an athlete ranked 2nd in the nation in batting average hitting .493, 5th in the nation with 17 home runs, and 12th in the nation with 57 runs batted in.

While at Northwestern, he coached two NAIA All-Americans.

Prior to his time at Northwestern, Hardie served as an assistant baseball/catchers’ and hitting coach at his alma mater, the University of Sioux Falls (SD). While at USF, the Cougars qualified for the post -season and he assisted with the development of the 2001 Great Plains Athletic Conference Pitcher-

of-the-Year, Adam Heiden, and 1st Team NAIA All-American outfielder, Joe Bolstad.

In addition to his collegiate coaching, Hardie spent ten years as a highly successful high school head baseball coach in Minnesota and South Dakota. His teams qualified for the state tournament nine of his ten years. During his high school coaching career, Hardie coached 29 All-State and 46 All-Region players. Furthermore, 18 of his athletes signed national letters-of-intent as high as the NCAA Divi-

sion I.

Hardie, a native of Aberdeen, S.D., has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 27 years. They have three children: Sierra, Zach, and Madisyn.



KRAMER SNEED Assistant Coach 2nd Season Alma Mater: Purdue (Ind.)

Kramer Sneed, a native of Winterville, N.C., begins his second year as the pitching coach at Dakota State University. His primary duties consist of working with the pitchers, recruitment of pitchers and catchers, opponent scouting, eligibility and camp/showcase

coordinator.

Sneed’s first season as the pitching coach was cut short early in 2020 due to COVID- 19. During the shortened season, the pitching staff lowered the team’s ERA by 3.7 runs from the previous year and had two pitchers, juniors Devin DeBoer and Carver Hultgren, earn Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week honors. Hultgren pitched the program’s first no-

hitter since 2005.

Prior to being named the pitching coach at Dakota State University, Sneed served as the pitching coach at NCAA DII Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, W.V. Before his time at Davis & Elkins, Sneed was an as- sistant pitching coach at his alma mater, NCAA DII Barton College in Wilson, N.C.

Sneed attended Barton College where he was named First Team All-Conference Carolinas and Academic All- Conference as a pitcher. After his junior season at Barton, he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 32nd round

of the 2010 Draft.

Sneed spent eight years in professional baseball before beginning his career as a collegiate pitching coach. He spent three years in the New York Yankees organization before being traded to the Los Angeles (Anaheim) Angels. While in the Angels organization, Sneed was named a California League All-Star as a starting pitcher and won the 2013 Califor- nia League Championship. His best season professionally came in 2015 when he finished with a 15-3 record, 2.83 ERA

and 181 strikeouts. He ended his professional career pitching over 860 innings and recording over 650 strikeouts.

After finishing his professional baseball career, Sneed completed his undergraduate degree at Purdue University Glob- al in liberal studies, graduating magna cum laude.

MYLES COMEAU Assistant Coach 2nd Season Alma Mater: New England College (N.H.)

Myles Comeau, an Avon, Mass. native, begins his second year as an assistant baseball coach for the Trojans. His primary duties consist of working defensively with the infield-

ers, assisting with hitting, recruiting and the developmental team.

Prior to being named an assistant baseball coach at Dakota State University, Comeau served as the head baseball coach at South Shore Charter High School in Norwell, Mass. In addition, he was the hitting coach and first base coach for the Brockton Rox of

the Future Collegiate Baseball League in Brockton, Mass.

After a successful high school playing career, Comeau attended NCAA Division III New England College in Henniker, N.H., where he was a member of the baseball program for

four years as an outfielder.

Comeau graduated from New England College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in sports and recreation management.



CHRISTIAN CHRISTIANSON Assistant Coach

Christian Christianson, an Aberdeen, S.D. native, begins his second year as an assis- tant baseball coach for the Trojans. His primary duties consist of working defensively with

the outfielders, assisting with hitting and the developmental team.

Prior to being named an assistant baseball coach at Dakota State, Christianson served as the head baseball coach for the Aberdeen American Legion Post 24 baseball team from 2018-19. In addition, he was the head baseball coach for Redfield High School in Redfield,

S.D. from 2015-17.

Christianson's wife, Nicole, is an academic advisor at Dakota State. He will be completing

his degree in elementary education.
