Beginning June 1, the District will restart several government functions— such as all parking enforcement, towing of illegally parked vehicles, and requirements to renew vehicle registrations and inspections— that had been suspended during the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency.

JUNE 1 START DATE JULY 1 START DATE § All parking enforcement § Booting of vehicles with two or more unsatisfied § Towing of vehicles violating parking zones (plus tickets that are 60 days old associated fines) § All DC driver license and ID Card holders must § Street sweeping and SWEEP enforcement display a valid credential § Vehicles must display valid DC registration and § Renewal applications accepted for occupational and inspection stickers professional licenses § New tiered residential parking permit fees § DC medical cannabis program patient or caregiver § Parking, photo, and/or minor moving violation tickets registration card must have a valid expiration date issued after June 1 will be subject to adjudication hearing timelines listed on the back of the ticket

April 19, 2021 TICKET AMNESTY PROGRAM 13

A new four-month ticket amnesty program will give drivers the opportunity to pay outstanding tickets for parking, photo enforcement (including speed, red-light, and stop sign), and minor moving violations. Drivers eligible for the amnesty program are still obligated to pay the original ticket amount; however, any penalties will be waived. Department of Public Works (DPW) tow and storage fees, if any, will not be waived.

The amnesty program will run from June 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021, and includes tickets issued before September 30, 2021.

Starting May 3:

§ The DC Public Library will add Saturday hours at its open locations § The Deanwood and Southeast Libraries will begin providing limited in-person services § Operating hours will be Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. § The library will no longer close from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. § Regular cleaning throughout the day will continue as well as additional cleaning in the event there is a COVID-19 positive case at a library location.

The new Southwest Library will open May 6.
