The palace was included in the "tentative list" of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Saint Francis Church Saint Francis Church, in Fort Kochi (Fort Cochin), Kochi, originally built in 1503, is one of the oldest European churches in India and has great historical significance as a mute witness to the European colonial struggle in the subcontinent. The Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama died in Kochi in 1524 when he was on his third visit to India. His body was originally buried in this church, but after fourteen years his remains were removed to Lisbon. Chinese fishing nets Locally known as 'Cheena Vala' these huge cantilevered fishing nets are believed to have been brought by sometime between 1350 and 1450 by traders from the court of Kublai Khan, some others say Chinese explorer Zhang He introduced the nets to Kochi shores. Jain Tirth Temple As these Jain traders needed a place of worship, these temples were constructed by society stalwarts in the port city of Cochin. The first temple dedicated to Shri Dharmanath Bhagwan was constructed by Smt. ... Legend has it that once the Jain Sangh immersed the idol in a nearby river as it had become Khandit (damaged). Mattupetty Dam Mattupetty Dam (Madupetty Dam), near Munnar in Idukki District, is a storage Concrete Gravity dam built in the mountains of Kerala, India to conserve water for hydroelectricity. It has been a vital source of power yielding along with other such dams, huge revenue to the states. Rose Garden The Rose Garden is located in the south east corner of Hyde Park, south of Serpentine Road near Hyde Park Corner. The Garden opened in 1994 and was designed by Colvin and Moggridge Landscape Architects. The design was developed from the concept of horns sounding one's arrival into Hyde Park from Hyde Park Corner. Rajamala hill station Rajamala hill station is situated near the famous hill station at Munnar in Idukki district. People flock to Rajamala to watch the Nilgiri Tahr in its natural habitat and the place is known for its intrinsic beauty. Rajamala is among the noted hill stations in Idukki, located around 15 km from Munnar. Tea Museum The tea Museum was established by Tata Tea in 2005 at Nallathanni estate. The museum chronicles the journey of the growth of tea in Munnar. The museum has many photographs and machines celebrating the legacy of the plantations owners and workers who ensured the survival of tea plantations here for long. Tea Garden History of Munnar Tea Gardens In 1870, Travancore's ruler granted 588 sq km of land on lease to J.D. Munro, a Scottish tea planter and a lawyer. The first sapling of tea was planted at Parvathi, which is now known as Sevenmallay Estate. In present times, Munnar has more than 50 tea gardens and sprawling gardens. Backwater of Kerala Kollam houseboat cruises serve the longest backwater ride in Kerala, lasting for 8 hours from Kollam to Alleppey. Afternoon proceed to visit Metupatty Dam for Speed boating and Rose Garden. ♦ Night halt at Munnar. Breakfast Day 4 Munnar - Thekkady Distance:- 95 kms Hrs:- 05 hrs approx After breakfast proceed to Thekkady a perfect retreat for anyone who loves adventure, fun, wildlife and nature., en route visit the Tea Gardens of Munnar. Arrive Thekkady and check-in at hotel. In the evening proceed to take a Spice Plantation tour Night halt at Thekkady. Breakfast Day 5 Thekkady – Alleppey / Kumarakom After breakfast proceed to Alleppey/Kumarakom, backwaters of Kerala. The card that swiped for payment of the tour’s foreign exchange should be of the cardholder himself/herself 2. The cardholder cannot use his/her card for payment of another person’s tour package 3. If husband, wife and two children are travelling together as a family, husband’s card is acceptable 4. The immediate family/kin, e.g. father can pay for the children; mother can pay for the children stands good. However, the person paying/cardholder should also be among the travellers 5. The FX payment is a part of LRS of the passenger 6. For packages with FX (Foreign Exchange) component only, initial deposit amount collected in INR for booking, shall be adjusted towards the balance FX component at the time of final FX payment 7. The ROE (Rate of Exchange) for the entire FX component of the tour shall be considered as per the prevailing ROE on the day final payment is being made.
