Sardinia Tour SARDINIA TOUR DAY 01: ROME – CIVITAVECCHIA PORT – DEPARTURE WITH FERRY BOAT TO OLBIA Departure at 2.30 p.m. from Rome to Civitavecchia to have free time in the old town until the time necessary to get on the ship to Olbia, Sardinia. Overnight in a first-class inside cabin. Night on the boat. DAY 02: OLBIA – MADDALENA AND CAPRERA – PALAU Arrival in Olbia at 8.30 approx. Leaving to Palau for a short break in order to let luggage at the hotel. Departure to the islands Maddalena and Caprera. You’ll find not only beaches and fun but also culture and history. Many cultural events depend on the presence of the personality of the past, like Giuseppe Garibaldi, to which a museum is dedicated. Free time for lunch. Return to Palau, the rest of the day on your own. Overnight in Palau. DAY 03: PALAU – COSTA SMERALDA – PALAU Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion through the Emerald Coast. The city of Arzachena makes part of this extremely appreciated and famous area. Rich nature, “Mediterranean macchia”, rocks built by the same nature, wonderful beaches in clear seawater, promontories and small islands. This incredible heritage was created in 1962 due to the free initiative of Prince Aga Khan V, who controlled an international financial organization. Free time to spend in one of the best beaches on the island. Free time for lunch. Back to Palau. Overnight in Palau. DAY 04: PALAU – STINTINO – CAPO CACCIA - ALGHERO Breakfast at the hotel. Leaving to Stintino, a village famous for its beautiful beaches in front of Island Asinara. Later, route to Capo Caccia, West tip of the wonderful Porto Conte Bay. The tour stops in a panoramic spot to take pictures of the most beautiful local bays with caves and small beaches. Here, we invite you to taste one of the typical local cakes: biscuits, candies or cheesecake. Free time for lunch. Arrival in Alghero, a tourist place situated on a promontory surrounded everywhere by large beaches. Visit to the city centre and free afternoon for personal visits. Overnight in Alghero. DAY 05: ALGHERO – CASTELSARDO – SANTA TERESA - OLBIA Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Castelsardo, an old and wonderful village. Then, departure to Santa Teresa. This place is the symbol of a fusion between nature and modern, tourism and wild area, representing a cult itinerary for thousand of tourists. Its promontory seems a huge cathedral, imposing and strict, and rises in front of the famous white Sardinian rocks, creating several strange shapes in one of the most evocative seaside places of the world, the so-called Strait of Bonifacio. Free time for lunch. Here, we invite you to taste the mirto, the typical local liqueur made by myrtle. Transfer to Olbia to get on the boat that leaves at 8,30 pm to Civitavecchia. Overnight on board. DAY 06: ROME Get off in Civitavecchia early in the morning. Transfer to your hotel, station or airport, depending on your needs. End of services. 1 RATES PER PERSON: CAT.     COMUNI DELL’ANGLONA E GALLURA CHE ABBRACCIANO LA BASSA VALLE DEL COGHINAS VALLEDORIA Valledoria (fino al 1960 Codaruina , Codaruìna in gallurese e sassarese ) è un comune di 4.125 abitanti della provincia di Sassari , nell'antica regione dell' Anglona . Il paese si affaccia sul Golfo dell' Asinara , nei pressi della foce del fiume Coghinas . Il paese sorge sul sito dell’antico borgo romano di Codes , da cui deriva appellativo Codaruina . Nel medioevo fu sede della Diocesi di Ampurias , distrutta ripetutamente dai pirati barbari. Appartenuta al Giudicato di Torres e passato alla famiglia genovese dei Doria , dopo la conquista aragonese , la valle del Coghinas fu colpita da epidemie catastrofiche (secolo XV) che portarono allo spopolamento di queste terre. La ripresa demografica si ebbe, come del resto in tutta la bassa gallura , verso la metà dell’ Ottocento , grazie all’afflusso di famiglie galluresi da Aggius e Tempio Pausania che occuparono le vaste pianure deserte e fertilissime, dando vita all'insediamento di Codaruina, oggi Valledoria centro. Nel 1960 Codaruina si rese comune autonomo con il nome di Valledoria comprendendo le frazioni di La Muddizza, La Ciaccia, San Pietro, Baia Verde e Maragnani, il cui territorio era compreso nei comuni di Sedini e Castelsardo . Nel 1983 si è staccata la frazione di Santa Maria Coghinas divenuta comune autonomo. SANTA MARIA COGHINAS Santa Maria Coghinas (Cuzina in gallurese , Santa Maria Cutzinas in sardo ) è un comune di 1.439 abitanti della provincia di Sassari Il centro abitato sorge nella regione storica dell'Anglona , sulla riva occidentale del fiume Coghinas e ai piedi delle colline che delimitano la fertilissima valle alluvionale con una media di 2 m s.l.m.

Tournament's name, “Sardinia, Subbuteo & Wine”, contains all the elements that will charaterize it. Being Sardinia known as synonymous of sun and sea, we chose as a location one of the most famous and valued area of the Gulf of Asinara.     OLBIA & SURROUNDINGS Olbia has 40’000 inhabitants; through its harbour „ Isola Bianca “ and the airport „ Costa Smeralda “ many international routes. The economy is based on fishing, breeding of mussels and food- industry, as tuna-processing. Olbia is also called the “shopping centre of Gallura ”, which is the name of the North-Eastern part of Sardinia. In most cases Olbia is only the arrival and departure point for a holiday in Northern Sardinia. But this town has some nice things to visit, for example C orso Umberto I . In this street, which leads from the harbour to Piazza Margherita, there are several boutiques and shops. In the Piazza, the heart of Olbia, cafés and ice-cream shops are a nice place to have a break. Not far from Olbia there are the beach areas of Pittulongu, Capo Ceraso and Porto Istana. Here visitors can find beautiful beaches and enjoy the marvellous view of the majestic “ island of Tavolara ”, a huge granite rock mountain that stands out 600m over the sea level. Golfo Aranci A long time ago Golfo Aranci was only a small fishermen village. When in the 60s the harbour for ferry boats was built, this place started developing very quickly. Several ferry boat companies (for both goods and passengers-transportation) have their own docks in the harbour of Golfo Aranci. Nowadays, despite other places which seem uninhabited during winter, in Golfo Aranci live about 2’000 people throughout the year. Some of them are fishermen and can be watched while repairing their nets in the harbour. From C apo Figari visitors can enjoy a beautiful view on the Gulf of Olbia and the “island” Tavolara .
