The attached pages list many of the clubs, facilities, befriending and community groups, organisations, activities, charities, and social enterprises that are based in - or work within the main areas covered by our Health Centre. It has been compiled from Parish magazines, The Community Directory and other sources.

The Directory is alphabetic and covers Baslow, and Froggatt, Great Longstone, and District, Derbyshire.

Baslow Edge Playgroup Baslow Edge Playgroup opened in 1975. It operates from the Mrs L Cox Haddon Room in Cliff College Training and Conference Centre, 01433 631883 situated on the A623 between Calver and Baslow. The provision serves 2, 3 and 4 year olds from surrounding villages. A maximum of 26 children may attend the playgroup at any one time. The playgroup is open during term time only, Monday to Thursday from 08:30 to 15:00 and Friday from 08.30 till 13.00. Children attend for a variety of sessions. All children share access to a secure enclosed outdoor play area. Cubs (Pilsley) The Cub Pack is the second section of the Scout Group following www.scouts.org.uk Amanda Griffiths on from Beavers. Cub Scouts are young people aged between 8 07951 067113 and 10 ½. There is flexibility in the age range: young people can join from age 7½ , and can move to Scouts between age 10 and 11. During their time in the Pack, Cub Scouts will get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, days out, and on camps. Participation rather than meeting set standards is the key approach, and there are a range of challenge awards and badges available that Cub Scouts can gain during their time in the section to recognise their achievements.

Great Longstone WI We have been in existence for 90 years! Long may it Ring our continue! We have a Walking Group which enjoys a 4/5 mile walk each month (that is, if it’s not pouring with rain!) You would be very welcome to join us. Careline Careline is a free telephone befriending service for people 01335 210353 living in Derbyshire and the Uttoxeter area. We aim to make people's lives better by making calls to those who feel in need of support - they may be elderly, less able to get out, feeling lonely or isolated. A team of around 70 volunteers makes the calls. We operate every day of the year, including weekends and holidays. We call our members every day or just a few times a week, depending on what suits them. Our service is completely free. (Funding awaited for Baslow and District).
