Datalogics announces Adobe Reader Mobile SDK for Windows 8 and Windows RT
Frankfurt, Germany — At the Frankfurt Book Fair today, Chicago-based Datalogics, Inc., the premier source for Adobe PDF and eBook technologies, announced the upcoming availability of the Adobe Reader Mobile SDK (RMSDK) toolkit for Windows 8 and Windows RT. With this release, software developers and publishers will now be able to build and deploy branded, customized eReaders on PCs, tablets and mobile devices running Windows 8 and Windows RT.
The Adobe Reader Mobile SDK is Adobe’s EPUB and PDF rendering technology for eBook apps and devices. It powers hundreds of apps and devices which act as the front end of Adobe’s end-to-end eBook ecosystem. This ecosystem is used worldwide by thousands of publishers, libraries and content providers selling and lending millions of eBooks. The Windows 8 port of Adobe Reader Mobile SDK leverages the native WinRT API, and enables developers to build applications that utilize the new tiled Windows 8 user interface. Adobe Reader Mobile SDK will be available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions for Windows 8, and a Windows RT-specific version for ARM devices such as tablets and phones.
