Recent Events

Bond Program on June 23, 2016 sponsored by Brent Jones with Meteor was a panel discussion featuring many of the school districts in going for bonds during the 2016 fall elections. District Representatives talked to members about the size of the bonds they are pursuing, how the money will be used if the bonds are successful, and how the districts will manage those projects. While deferred maintenance issues are high on the list of needs, some innovative new spaces will certainly be anticipated. Be sure to get out and vote! We are planning a follow-up meeting to track the successful districts and to keep members informed about future plans.

New Board Welcome Party on October 20 at the Infinite Monkey Theorem in was sponsored by new board member Pam Heitman with Tandus Carpet. This well attended event was to introduce our new board to the Rocky Mountain Chapter members with pizza and drinks. It was a wonderful way to kick off our new year and get to know each other in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

SchoolsNEXT

We have a lot of interest in the Schools Next program for the 2016-2017 school year. It looks like two middle schools are definitely participating with several others considering teams. We have some local members stepping up to mentor the students and would love to have more architects or designers take part. If you are interested in helping out, contact Kari-elin Mock.
