New tickets released for Brad Paisley Posted by Alan Van Wormer On 08/16/2018 SOLOMONS, Md. - New tickets have just been released by Brad Paisley for next week’s show on August 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Calvert Marine Museum PNC Waterside Pavilion. It’s his first time in Solomons and he wants to see as many fans as possible at the concert! Buy tickets now at 1-800-787-9454 or visit the website at https://calvertmarinemuseum.ticketforce.com/. Paisley’s hits include: “Remind Me,” “Mud on the Tires,” “Whiskey Lullaby,” “She’s Everything,” “When I Get Where I’m Going,” “I’m Gonna Miss Her,” and “This is Country Music.” Opening the show is premier vocalist, Dan Tyminski. He is a member of bluegrass act Alison Krauss and Union Station and has racked up 14 Grammy Awards. MusicRow Awards Final Nominations by Sarah Skates usicRow is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its annual awards show, and kicking off the voting period with today’s announcement of nominees. The MusicRow Awards, Nashville’s longest running music industry trade publication honors, will be hosted by ASCAP at the performing rights organization’s offices on Tuesday, June 25 at 5:30 p.m. The MusicRow Awards started in 1989 with a salute to the Top 10 Album All-Star Musicians, a category that Mcontinues today. Gerolami A Thesis Submitted to the Graduate College of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF MUSIC May 2007 Committee: David Harnish, Advisor Steven Cornelius ii ABSTRACT David Harnish, Advisor This thesis probes the meaning and processes of karaoke song selection at Whiskey Dick’s, a working-class bar in Bowling Green, Ohio. Through research, observations, and interviews conducted from 2005 to 2006, it examines how working-class identity manifests itself in karaoke song selection. As part of positioning the author into the study, I introduce my own background and discuss my history with both karaoke music and working-class culture. An analysis of a single night at Whiskey Dick’s creates a framework for specific observations and gives the reader greater context, while the lengthy enthnography provides for more generalized observations. In interviews and discussions with the singers I attempt to uncover the meaning behind each song selected, discovering how conscious singers are of their choices. For some participants my research eventually impacted how they pick songs thus raising issues of intrusion by the ethnomusicologist. I examine several of the most popular songs at Whiskey Dick’s and analyze the lyrics of each, focusing on class representation within the lyrics. In addition, the difficulties of speaking about music and our musical preferences are explored and discussed in reference to the singers at Whiskey Dick’s. iii This thesis is dedicated to everyone who enjoys making music a part of life.

2019 NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT BIOGRAPHIES Joe Mantegna Joe was awarded the Tony and Joseph Jefferson Award for his acclaimed performance as Richard Roma in David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Glengarry Glen Ross. Some of Joe’s film and television highlights are; House of Games, Searching for Bobby Fisher, Godfather III, his Emmy and Golden Globe nominated role of Dean Martin in The Ratpack, his Emmy nominated role of Pipi Delana in The Last Don, and the voice of Fat Tony on The Simpsons. For two seasons, Joe stared with Mary Steenburgen and Amber Tamblyn in the critically acclaimed CBS drama Joan of Arcadia, winner of the 2004 People Choice Award for best new drama as well as picking up three Emmy nominations. In 2008, Joe reprised his Emmy nominated role of Lou Manahan opposite Debra Messing in USA Network series The Starter Wife. Joe has also lent his voice to the Disney/Pixar film, CARS2 and continues his 23-year run as Fat Tony on The Simpsons. In April of 2011, Joe received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Joe lends much of his free time to a number of philanthropic endeavors. In May of 2012, Joe was appointed the National Spokesperson for The U.S. Army Museum, to lead the fundraising campaign to build the long-planned National Museum of the United States Army.
