Jason Glover is Managing Partner of Simpson Thacher’s London PRACTICE FOCUS office and a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee. Jason focuses his practice on private fund formation, particularly Corporate funds. He is a recognized leader in this area, Investment Funds having represented many of the most prominent European and Private Funds developing market private equity firms in structuring complex global funds. His clients include Actis, Affinity, Apax, BC Partners, Bridgepoint, CapVest, , Coller Capital, CVC, EQT , Mid Europa, Oakley Capital, Softbank Group and Triton. His practice also includes structuring complex employee leveraged co-investment plans for leading global banks as well as advising fund managers seeking to establish ‘carried interest’ and other compensation plans. Jason has also advised a number of management teams on their spin-outs from institutions. Recent work highlights include:

During his career, Jason spent three years working in the private equity industry. As operations director for AIFAL, then the second-largest private equity manager in Asia, Jason was responsible for the day-to-day operational management for several funds, including Asian Infrastructure Fund. He gained further commercial experience as COO of what is now Duke Street Capital, where his role included active fundraising for an LBO fund that quadrupled funds under management. Subsequently he headed up the global private funds practice at Clifford Chance until 2010, when he moved to Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.

Jason received his LL.B. from the University of Bristol in 1988. He has been recognized among the “50 Most Influential People in European Private Equity” by Financial News for three consecutive years, as well as among the “20 Most Influential in Legal Services” in Europe. He was named “Global Private Funds Lawyer of the Year” by Who’s Who Legal for each of years 2008 through 2012 and again in 2016 and 2019. In 2013, the Chambers 100 list ranked Jason in the top 10 of the best U.K. business lawyers. He was also identified by Private Equity International as one of the 100 most influential persons in global private equity (and was the highest-ranked lawyer in such list). Jason is a former Chair of the IBA Private Funds Committee and a former member of the Board of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association.
