ANNUAL REPORT [2014-15] ACADEMICS This year 33 students of the school appeared in the All India Senior School certificate Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education. Kirti Kohli topped the school and stood first in the commerce stream with an aggregate of 90% marks. Gurpratap Singh (Commerce stream) stood second with an aggregate of 85.2% Both Arpita Bharti (Science Stream ) and Manjinder Singh (Commerce Stream ) stood third with 81.6% marks. The All India Secondary school Examination of the CBSE appeared by 62 students. Three students namely Jyotpreet Kaur, Manish Maurya and Navneet Kaur saini have been awarded Merit Cerificates by the CBSE for obtaining grade A1 in the All India Secondary School Examination held in March 2014. AWARD TO TEACHERS – Mrs. Nisha Bashin , Asstt. Teacher Oxford Public School is the recipient of the ‘Best Teacher Award’ for the year 2013 by PratibhaKalyan Parishad, Palia Kalan , Kheri. RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES FOR TEACHERS- Teachers of all most all subjects besides the school’s librarianand lab Asst. attended workshop on Capacity building programme & CCE conducted by CBSE ‘ Learning Link Foundation ‘ on 26-09-2013 and the school organized workshops by its own Resource Personels during the year. CLUBS / SOCITIES’ REPORT MATH CLUB – Maths club conducted Seminar on ‘Fun and Fundamental of Mathematics’ members if math club participated House wise. The Club member also participated in quiz competition . Red House became winner and Yellow House stood as Runner – Up . The Club also organized Math Race for Junior and Sub – Junior students. SCIENCE CLUB – In August 2013 , the science clube organized Science Exhibition. Students from V to XII participated. In October 2013, a Collage making competition was organized for students of III , IV and V on Energy Conservation. LITERARY CLUB The Literary club of our school regularly organized debates, speeches, seminars, extempore, recitation etc on different topics and issues. Students won in the following categories. ENVIRONMENT CLUB – Walk for water :- In 2013 April, 20 students of environment club along with teacher in charge (Ratna Suri) participated in campaign ‘ save water share water’. Students become a part of the Blue campaign to minimize wastage of water by adopting the SR’s Reduce , Reuse, Recharge, Recycle and respect water Earth Day 2013 – To mark earth Day, Environment club of our school organized various activities from 13th to 25th April in order to develop environment conscious mentality and as a reminder to save Mother earth. 1. Students were asked to write slogans related to environment . The best slogan was awarded . 2. Senior Students were asked for painting and junior students to draw pictures related to environment. The best painting and drawing was awarded. 3. Best from wait Art exhibition creativity was put to a test and students of S IX to S X undertook a truly difficult task of creating something using waste materials. Marvelous models, puppets , decorative things were created. Exhibition was conducted by S X students and displayed the things made in test . They described how they made different things from waste materials. They tried to create awareness among students and people to protect environment and decorate their house by making things from waste materials. 4. An inter – house Quiz on environment related issues was organized Green house emerged as the winner where as Blue and Red House claimed the second and third prize respectively. 5. A Chart was put up for ‘Green Imprints’. Students were required to put a green thumbprint on the chart, each, hence making tree, symbolic of our Endeavour to a sustainable life. 6. Our campaign ended with a skit put up by our student environmentalists to remind everyone that trees are precious gift given by God and each of it should be saved . 7. wildlife conservation week (30-09-13 to 05-10-13) A unique educational trip to Dudhwa National Park , U.P. was organized for students . 8. Speech both in English and Hindi, Quiz and poem were organized Savan Mishra of X won the best poet prize. Earth Day 2013 Research on plants :- In February 2014 students from VI to VIII participated in research activities under in – charge of Environment club. Various kinds of herbs, Shrubs and plants including medicinal and flowering plants were planted. Our student environmentalists got to know a lot of things. Earth Day 2013 Earth Hour :- On 30 March 2014 our Environment club supported the earth hour proposed by WWF. Students carried out a signature campaign made posters and lists of ‘dos’ and don’ts’ to create awareness about importance of energy conservation. SOCIAL INTERACTION CLUB - Our social interaction club regularly tries to develop social habits among students and in society also. Regularly Group discussions, debates seminars Quizzes etc. organized on different social political and economic issues members of SIC try, to motivate and aware students on different specialissues.Different tasks provided to its members in different occasions. The SIC including its in – charge and all members toured to the nearest slum areas. They tried to create awareness among villagers about sanitation. They motivate them how precautions against disease are important . They also convinced them to enjoy the facilities those are provided by the govt. ‘Importance of sanitation in healthy life’ the skit was presented in vernacular local language . In December 2013 collaboration with the Bank of Baroda. The club distributed school bag, dictionary , geometry box and food to the poor children to share happiness with them, On the occasion of Christmas. Student went to the nearest Gurdwara and offered their sewa on Baisakhi and Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti. To create awareness among people our SIC organized Marathon Races “Run for Health “ of senior students i.e. from VIII to XII on 1st January’2014. Separately it was arranged for girls and boys It started from Public Inter College , Sampurna Nagar and ended at Oxford Public School, Morarkhera around 5Km. distance. Boys Marathon won by Ramandeep Singh Dhaliwal of X and Girl’s Marathon won by Anshika Baranwal of VIII CULTURAL CLUB – All the boarders of our cultural club try to maintain , preserve and uphold the area India tradition culture and heritage on different. Occasion. Earth and every National religious and Harvesting festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm occasion related cultural programmes are organized in which students across I to XII participate. On 12th April’2013, Baisakhi celebrated with Bhangra, Gidda and skit on Punjabi folk tales. It was ended with the speech and Quiz on contribution of Baba Sahab Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar as social reformer. On 18th April on the occasion of the world Heritage day a short documentary on different world Heritage sites shown to the students. On 11th May’2013 Mother’s day was celebrated . A special assembly was conducted to express the importance of mother in each and everybody’s life. Singers across I to XII sang songs tributed to mothers. On 8th July’2013 a special Assembly was conducted on behalf of Eid. English speech Hindi speech was delivered by students on The Holy month of Ramzan.
