A benefit for Larchmont Manor Park Auction Items 1. Manor Park Bench. Manor Park has long been used for leisure, contemplation, meditation, and simply a place to reflect and rejuvenate. This is the first opportunity, in several years, to donate a lovely wooden Manor Park bench, with an option to have a small personalized engraved plaque. Value for this lifetime keepsake in Manor Park: $10,000 Starting bid: $7,500 2. Namesake Natural Stone Pavers. Manor Park’s landscape is peppered with natural stone, providing transition points between the natural landscape and hardscape for leisurely strolls or jogs through the Park. These natural stone pavers will supplement the hardscape areas and will be used in a design around a new walkway around the flagpole located along the pathway between the two Manor Park gazebos. A limit of 20 will be available. Value: $3000 each 3. Host a party at Manor Beach. Manor Beach has been a long time summer retreat for both restoration and recreation. Indulge in this one time opportunity to host a private party at Manor Beach during the 2013 season. Available dates are June 1 through the 13th (excluding June 7th) or from August 19th through the 30th from 6pm to 10pm. Limited to 100 attendees or less. The concession will remain open for your purchases or you can cater or bring your own food and drinks. A date must be agreed upon with the Manor Beach director. Built in 1916 of mahogany and oak, and magnificently restored in 2008, Bernice is the winner of numerous racing awards in the U.S. and Canada (including one presented in 1919 by the future King Edward VIII), as well as Mystic Seaport's Best Restoration award, 2008 and 2009. Manor Park Pagoda early 1890s Vintage photo Pagoda is one of the rare few donated by The Larchmont Historical Society for this special exhibition and auction restoration fundraiser. It depicts a wonderful and little known jewel of architecture known as The Pagoda, which considerably predates our present Gazebo as the precious Larchmont vantage point along the shore before the turn of the century. A Day in Larchmont Manor Park Vintage photo A Day in Larchmont Manor Park is one of the rare few donated by The Larchmont Historical Society for this special exhibition and auction restoration fundraiser. It dates back to the turn of the century and depicts a day along the shore reminiscent of Seurat's Grande Jatte as one of those exceptional summer days that is instinctively recognized by everyone. Manor Park Hurricane 1938 Vintage photo Manor Park Hurricane 1938, originally photographed by Herb Roth, is one of the rare few donated by The Larchmont Historical Society for this special exhibition and auction restoration fundraiser. The sea wall seen in this picture was recently destroyed by Hurricane Sandy, of which proceeds from this benefit will go toward rebuilding. A fire destroyed the original bath pavilion, as seen in this photo, rebuilt to its existing structure in the 1950s. B.A. D’Alessandro Sailboat sculpture (on display at Vintage 1891) B.A. D’Alessandro has created sculptures in a variety of materials, but has been concentrating on steel for the last twelve years. B.A studied welding techniques at Silvermine Art Center, New Canaan with David Boyajian and followed him to his own studio at The Sculpture Barn in New Fairfield. Presently, she is working with Bob Perucci at Silvermine.Born in the Bronx and raised in Hartsdale, B.A. resides in White Plains, New York. She is an experienced oil painter, but has been working in watercolor for the last several years because she finds it such a delicate and expressive medium. Rachel’s framed original watercolor is inspired by the view from the knoll at Manor Beach, overlooking the footpath to the point that leads into Long Island Sound. Amy Nathan Morning Mist (on display at Vintage 1891) Amy Nathan is a photographer and Mamaroneck Artist Guild member whose photos have been featured in the gallery’s “Small Works” juried exhibits. Cynthia Newman Remnants: Bracchium II Newman's series Remnants contains images from nature referencing transformation, regeneration, strength as well as loss and also our human connection to nature. Cynthia is a local Larchmont artist and designer who has shown in galleries in New York, Los Angeles and Connecticut and is held in private collections locally as well as in Europe. Deborah Petrucci Manor Shoreline Deborah Petrucci has exhibited extensively in Westchester and New York City group shows, including Amsterdam Whitney Gallery, The Salmagundi Club, The American Artists Professional League and The Pelham Art Center. She has been a longstanding member of The Mamaroneck Artists Guild since 1989. In the last 3 years Deborah's style and content has shifted to a botanical nature with a more modern and abstract bent. Wendy Popp Moonrise Over Long Island Sound Wendy Popp is an artist whose works have graced the covers and interiors of books, periodicals and newspapers internationally since 1981. Her awards include The New School University Distinguished Educator of The Year Award, The Sydney Tyler Book Award, The Washington Irving’s Children’s Choice Honor, and The Dean Cornwall Recognition Award from The Society of Illustrators Museum of American Illustration.
