Read the following and answer the questions that follow: A Wonderful New Year The year 2018 is just days old, but already there are indications it will be a great 12 months. This is according to a poll conducted by the international news service BBC. The service's top pollster asked pertinent questions about whether people were optimistic or pessimistic about the year ahead. A resounding 100 per cent of survey participants responded positively. They all thought 2018 would be a wonderful year, both in their personal lives and in terms of national and global issues. All those who took part in the survey were of the opinion that 2018 would be significantly better than the year 2017. A BBC spokesman said he was heartened by the responses and wished everyone good fortune. The survey questioned participants' views on their hopes for their own life, as well as for the fate of the Earth. An overwhelming majority of people were convinced they would carry out their New Year resolutions. In particular, people were determined to get in shape, stop procrastinating, save money, and improve their communication skills. Others said they would use their smartphones less often, eat less fast food and chocolate, and make sure their homes are always very, very tidy. Most participants were positive about the world in 2018. They thought there would be fewer wars, less pollution and an increase in goodwill shown to the less fortunate.     The Athens 1896 and Athens 1906 Olympic Pins By: Ioannis Thomakos The Athens 1896 and Athens 1906 Olympic Pins Revealing the first Pins in the History of the Olympic Games By: Ioannis Thomakos Ιn October 2018, I managed to publish a Book related to the Athens Games, with the title “Athens 2004 Olympic NOC Pins & Related Memorabilia, Vol. 1”. During the course of the preparation for this Book, I did extensive research on the History of Pins produced by National Olympic Committess from 1896 till today. The present article draws on this research. During preparations for the Athens 1896 Olympic Games the Greek Olympic Organising Committee decided among other things to decorate the main streets of Athens and the entrance of the Panathenaic Stadium with big banners carrying the flags and emblems of the participating nations. The Greek banner depicted the flag and national emblem of Greece (blue with white cross). These banners greatly enhanced the celebratory atmosphere in the city of Athens. Ιn February 1895 a very important meeting took place at the Zappeion Megaron, in Athens. It was chaired by crown Prince Constantin and was attended by all members of the Olympic Organising Committee. Medals won determine how a coach is evaluated and with more nations competition at a higher level, success is becoming even more competitive. More qualified and adaptable coaches are required to cope with the demands of international competition. The literature has been extensively examined based on the research question: to what extent is coaching success predicted by a coaches’ ability to self-reflect on past experiences? The purpose of this study was to demonstrate that if coaches who are highly self- reflective and have successful athletic and coaching experiences would be more likely to have future coaching success than those who either were not self-reflective or had less success in the past.
