Some of us remember when they raised the price to 150 fils per can and it didn’t make much of a difference then either. Tobacco market would also be not affected. However, I think energy drinks like Red Bull may be affected since it’s gone from 650 fils to BD1.3 which means it would be a burden on the budgets of regular drinkers. Mohammed Hassan The new price rise affects me a lot or people like me who consume soft drinks on a daily basis. On the one hand, the government decision is actually agood to help people stay healthy and help the economy. On the other hand, I feel like it may have a negative impact on the economy as well. Well, if people stop drinking, it’s healthier for them but at the same time if they stop buying, then retailer businesses would be affected by that. Ammar Muhammad Naeem The rise in the prices of soft drinks would really affect the economy. Reason being the people would reduce the consumption of the product, which would lead to fewer sales and once the market gets affected, people to lose jobs which is a big risk. For example, if you see the price of Red Bull has increased to BD1.3, the common person won’t consume the product which will make the energy drinks a luxury commodity. FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L' AUTOMOBILE 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship Brazilian Grand Prix Friday Press Conference Transcript 09.11.2018 TEAM REPRESENTATIVES – Jonathan Eddolls (Toro Rosso), Nick CHESTER (Renault), Ayao KOMATSU (Haas), Jock CLEAR (Ferrari), Rob SMEDLEY (Williams) PRESS CONFERENCE Nick, it’s been a great last couple of races for Renault and it looks like you’ve pretty much secured P4 in the Championship. That was your stated aim at the start of the year, but just talk us through how satisfied you’ve been with the development curve of this year’s car? Nick CHESTER: Well firstly, it has been a pretty tight fight, we’ve had a fight all year and the last couple of races have been pretty good for us. We’ve developed the car pretty hard all year. We knew we were going to have to and that it would be a tight fight. But it’s pleasing and I think if we have another couple of decent races towards the end of the year – Brazil and Abu Dhabi – then we’ll be about there. Q: These past couple of races, as we said, have been good. Have you made a step forward that has allowed you to be that competitive on every track or has it been track specific? NC: It’s been a bit track specific. We know that there are some tracks that are better for us than others. We’re a little bit better in slow-speed corners than high-speed corners but also we have been working the development to try to bring the car on through the year.

ROB SMEDLEY JOINS F1 IN SCHOOLS PATRONS ROSTER F1 in Schools, a global educational initiative, welcomes Rob Smedley, Race Engineer, Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, to its growing list of patrons from the Formula 1 community. Smedley has been a loyal supporter of F1 in Schools for many years and has welcomed many of the World Finals teams into the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro garages at races. Smedley says of becoming a patron for F1 in Schools, “I'm extremely proud to have been given this opportunity to support such a great initiative as F1 in Schools. As the current crop of engineers working in Grand Prix motor racing we should all be aware of the responsibility that we have in nurturing the future of our sport which rests in the hands of the young enthusiasts who aspire to one day occupy senior engineering positions within the teams. This talent needs to be supported and guided at such a crucial stage to ensure the correct development and F1 in Schools is doing just that. It is no surprise to see that all the major teams in Formula 1 are involved in this excellent programme. “For the young people involved this is a great opportunity and one that should be grasped with both hands. It is a chance to learn and grow in an environment that reflects a modern day Formula 1 team. It's great that people are able to get involved in engineering from such a young age, the younger the better! Use the experience to its full potential and it can only be of benefit.

Was it really 30 years ago that the Indy cars (or USAC cars as they were then known) came to Britain for the fi rst time? The British weather did its best to spoil John Webb’s great initiative and the fi rst three days were bedevilled by rain so that the race had to be postponed from Saturday to Sunday. But when they raced they did not disappoint with AJ Foyt, an Indianapolis legend if ever there was one, charging through from the fi fth row of the grid in his Coyote-Ford to be challenging Rick Mears in the Penske- Cosworth PC6 for the lead when the rain returned and the race was suspended. On the restart there was no stopping Anthony Joseph who surged past Rick into Stowe within a couple of laps and stayed ahead until the rain returned for a second time and that was that. FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L'AUTOMOBILE Press Information 2015 Canadian Grand Prix Grand Prix Friday Press Conference Transcript 05.06.2015 TEAM REPRESENTATIVES – Matt MORRIS (McLaren), Matthew CARTER (Lotus), Graeme LOWDON (Manor), Rob SMEDLEY (Williams), Paddy LOWE (Mercedes), James ALLISON (Ferrari), PRESS CONFERENCE James, if we could start with you. Obviously you’re using development engines this weekend, for the first time in quite a few years, the first time we’ve seen it in Formula One. What are you hoping the engine this weekend is going to bring and what did you think of your race pace in particular this afternoon in the dry? James ALLISON: I hope, like all of the fellows at this table, that what we put on the car this weekend will make us competitive and strong in the qualifying and in the race. The engine is a part of that, the chassis is another part of that. It’s just another thing to make the car go quicker. So I hope it will be strong and reliable all weekend and for the weekends that follow, Race pace? It’s hard to know what to make of today. Normally these free practice session have a sort of pattern and a rhythm to them; we all do more or less the same programmes week after week and we get to have a feel for where we stand based on that. But on a day like today when the weather mucks things up and you can see the rain coming but you’re not quite sure when it’s going to come people tend to work on slightly different programmes and it makes it a little bit harder to judge.
