One highlight of the year came in January when we ran the Moving Forward Together conference in conjunction with two of our partners. A memorable moment at the conference came when Richard O’Neill asked participants to raise their hands if they were born in York. The show of hands revealed that a far higher percentage of the Gypsies & Travellers present had lived around York for all their lives than was the case for the professionals and others present from the ‘settled’ community.
