Daemen’s final homestand of the regular season wraps up Friday night when they play host to the UDC 7 Roberts Wesleyan * W, 96-70 Firebirds. Daemen is 13-1 at home this season – the eighth time they’ve posted 10+ home wins in the last 13 @ Mercy * W, 103-59 nine seasons. 2. Daemen has won seven of their last eight games overall, including perhaps their most impressive win since 15 @ #24 St. Thomas Aq. * L, 87-80 the calendar flipped to 2020. The Wildcats fended off a furious second-half rally last Friday night to defeat St. 19 @ St. Rose W, 96-88 Thomas Aquinas. It marked Daemen’s second win against a nationally-ranked team this season. 3. Daemen’s 96-79 win Sunday over Mercy clinched the Wildcats’ fifth-straight ECC tournament berth. The JANUARY (5-3) ECC tournament will feature the top six teams in the final standings. Daemen remains in the hunt for a top- 1 @ St. Anselm L, 87-59 two seed and the corresponding bye into the semifinal round. If not, they are in the driver’s seat for the No. 3 seed which would give them a first round home game on March 4. 2 @ St. Michael's W, 72-68 4. UDC finds itself in the thick of the ECC tournament race. Friday’s game features two of the top three-point marksmen in the ECC: Daemen’s Jeff Redband and UDC’s Juanye Colon. Redband leads the ECC with 89 three-pointers this season and is shooting 51% from FEBRUARY (4-1) downtown (38-for-74) over the last nine games.
