Throughout the years the close collaboration with cultural funds, the city of Amsterdam and brand partners has enabled ADE to become the most respected conference and largest club festival for electronic music professionals and enthusiasts, while remaining true to its core values. ADE offers its brand partners knowledge and experience to build creative campaigns. To create real experiences and develop authentic and relevant content, distributed through media plans that put their brand in a global spotlight, connecting them with ADE’s core audience of tastemakers that live music. Some examples can be found on the following slides. We are specialized in connecting brands to music professionals and enthusiasts by building culturally relevant campaigns that drive your message. In 2018 we teamed up with Absolut, Ace & Tate, Adobe, Deezer, Instagram, Facebook, KLM, Pioneer DJ, Red Bull, SoundCloud, Uber and more great partners. Let’s take a closer look at how we work together with our partners. ADE x CANON ADE BLOGPOST | READ HERE Story Shooters ADE and Canon called on creatives to become part of the Story Shooters team, which captured all the highlights of the 2018 edition in fascinating detail. After a 30 day social campaign, over 500 submissions were sent in. The 25 best creatives were invited for a day full of DIY activities, in which they were encouraged to go to great lengths to express their vision. Eventually, six highly talented and progressive photographers and videographers convinced the jury to let them become part of the Story Shooters team. They headed home with an all access ADE press accreditation, a five night stay in Amsterdam and the latest Canon gear in their bags. During the event, all content came together in an attractive live feed on the ADE landing page which visually covered the largest electronic music event in the world. Watch the open call video here ADE x DESPERADOS ADE BLOGPOST | READ HERE Find Your Dancefloor Desperados and ADE teamed up to help the ADE crowd find their dance floor prior to and during the event. This message was spread and carried out through an extensive campaign, including a central campaign video which was plugged and seeded online and played in arthouse cinemas, an in-store retail promotional across The Netherlands, a treasure hunting ticketing activation in collaboration with ADE’s media partners, a (digital) out of home campaign and a live event to kick off ADE. During the event, daily videos with program highlights and tips were shared to help visitors get inspired during the day and find their perfect dance floor by night. Check our day and night program tips ADE x KLM ADE BLOGPOST | READ HERE Life on the road With international artists, speakers, delegates and music enthusiasts from around the globe, ADE depends on a reliable flight partner. For the fifth year in a row we teamed up with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to facilitate the travel to Amsterdam from over 150 cities. Aside from a highly visible integration into an intelligent travel campaign, a booking widget on the ADE website and deluxe giveaways (including flights, hotels and tickets), we covered and shared unique and personal travel stories from global visitors about what moves them in order to reveal the diversity of this global community, ADE’s program and its visitors. Those stories were spread via IG stories, iFlyMagazine, Crack Magazine and our in-house created video series ‘Life on the Road’ in which we dived deeper in the life on the road as a musician, DJ, producer or music professional which can be pretty hectic.

Free for publication March 22nd 2018, 11:30 EET World-class electronic music at Flow's Resident Advisor Front Yard Flow Festival is known for its stellar electronic music offering, and this year the audience gets to enjoy it at the Resident Advisor Front Yard, among other venues. Come August, Helena Hauff, Moodymann, Gerd Janson, Young Marco, Yaeji, Sammy Dee & Zip, Sonja Moonear and many others will take the stage at Flow. Flow Festival debuted the very popular Resident Advisor Front Yard at last year's festival. This year the stage is back and the cooperation with Resident Advisor, the world's num- ber one online media for electronic music, continues. The area's stripped down industrial atmosphere with its cargo container structures combined with a park-like greenery and gorgeous light design creates an amazing setting for enjoying the club sounds. On Friday Resident Advisor Front Yard will host Sammy Dee and Zip, two legendary Ger- man DJs playing together, Swiss top DJ Sonja Moonear, Finnish electro's ultimate cult duo Imatran Voima's 20th anniversary live performance, Amsterdam-based Young Marco with his original, obscure and fascinating record finds, and Korean-born, but Berlin-based house and techno sensation Peggy Gou. On Saturday, the Resident Advisor stage will be taken over by e.g. Helena Hauff, who reached the top spot on Crack Magazine's TOP 50 DJ list, Detroit In Effect with his Miami bass, techno and hip hop inspired set, as well as Veronica Vasicka, who personifies Mini- mal Wave, the style and the record company.

Amsterdam Dance Event announces first confirmed artists The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world's largest festival and business conference for electronic music, today announced the first selection of artists for 2017. Among them are Bonobo, Charlotte de Witte, Colin Benders, GAIA, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Martin Garrix, Nina Kraviz, Orbital, Peggy Gou and Richie Hawtin. The organisers expect to welcome a record breaking 400,000 visitors for the 23rd edition. The five day and night gathering runs from October 17th-21st, 2018 and is the world’s leading festival and conference program, offering an extensive art, film, photography program, alongside music and the latest trends in technology and social good. ADE-director Richard Zijlma states: “We’re almost at the point of reaching the magical 400,000 visitors mark, and we still see lots of opportunities to grow. ADE aims to be a world stage for musical talent and the music industry. With visitors from more than 100 countries now you can confidently claim that Amsterdam is truly the beating heart of the worldwide music industry during ADE, while being at the same time a breading ground for cultural and technological innovation for five days and nights. In addition to the growth of the extensive night program, there is also rapid growth of the ADE Beats program, with the audience for hiphop, bass and beats growing year on year. ADE 2017 featured more than 2,500 artists and 550 speakers in a record breaking 160 locations. In previous communications, ADE’s organisers announced that the opening concert with the Metropole Orchestra, the free city festival ADE Hangover and the ADE Hackathon will return to this year’s program.

  • Ian Ion Biography
KEEP MAKING N O I Z E - IAN ION BIOGRAPHY Ian Ion, born in Copenhagen, started getting into music early, playing guitar at first. At fifteen, in the middle of the punk and new wave era, Ian got hold of a Korg synthesizer, started playing around and soon turned towards electronic music. In 1984 he formed the group Russia Heat (as Ian Maria) and released a very successful twelve-inch. Another single followed, and in '87 Ian was invited by Rune B and Dick D'Press to form the group The Overlords. With The Overlords, the threesome devised a very media and music conscious formula, mixing futuristic productions with hard-hitting images. The music, a blend of rock and electronica, was presented to an unsuspecting audience on the Roskilde Festival's Green Stage in the summer of '88, coinciding with the release of The Overlords' first album. After a trip to Goa in 1988, Ian found a new forum for electronic music. And after signing with front-runner techno label, Antler/Subway in Belgium, The Overlords released the classic track Sundown, that brought the band worldwide recognition and gave Ian the chance to work with many different artist including Blue Pearl, Billy Idol, Traci Lords, Sven Väth, Miro and Dr. Baker. Some of these collaborations brought Ian gold disks and chart positions all over the World. Meanwhile, Ian set up his own studio in central Copenhagen called The Grooveyard. Here he met psychedelic outfit Koxbox, who quickly started working with him to produce a very distinct sound that was instantly recognized on the underground scene.

Traditionally, the purposefulness and relevance of a singer-songwriter were defined by something unique in their lyrical acumen, vocal skills and/or guitar or piano accompaniment. In the 1990s this paradigm was tested by the trend towards larger orchestrastion and towards electronic orchestration. In the 2000s it became harder and harder to give purpose and meaning to a body of work mostly relying on the message. Many singer-songwriters of the 2000s belonged to "Generation X" but sang and wrote for members of "Generation Y". Since "Generation Y" was inherently different from all the generations that had preceeded it, it was no surprise that the audience for these singer-songwriters declined. Since the members of "Generation X" were generally desperate to talk about themselves, it was not surprising that the number of such singer- songwriters increased. The net result was an odd disconnect between the musician and her or his target audience. The singer-songwriters of the 2000s generally sounded more "adult" because... they were.

news #34 MUNGOLIAN JETSET - MUNGODELICS Hot on the heels of 2011`s "Schlungs", the Jetsetters have kept those buttons busily pushed, and are already here with their next chapter installment, featuring 8 new nuggets entitled "Mungodelics". The album is essentially a psychodramatic sequel to the highly acclaimed "We Gave It All Away, Now We Are Taking It Back" album of 2009, as it is musically a blend of originals and remakes made into originals, as well as solo performances and external collaborations from the band`s musical core members, Knut Saevik and Paul "Strangefruit" Nyhus. All in all, "Mungodelics" musically summons everything that is hazy, dazy, underearthly and crazy. This is the Mungolian Jetset taking you on a ride through the seasons, and shifts of the days and nights, from the Cantina to the Ewok forest, via ritualistic dancing at Kilmin Taboour and stellar swimming in the galactic Goa.
