Programme Line-Up at I Light Singapore - Bicentennial Edition Annex A – Programme line-up at i Light Singapore - Bicentennial Edition Programming Hubs Festival at the Fort @ i Light Singapore by NParks 28/01/2019 – 24/02/2019, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays | Raffles Terrace, Fort Canning Park | Free Entry Held in celebration of the rich heritage of Fort Canning, one of the most historical places in Singapore, Festival at the Fort @ i Light Singapore will highlight the life and legacy of Sir Stamford Raffles. Visit the Raffles Terrace, which has a replica of Sir Stamford Raffles’ residence in 1822, and explore the newly planted area. Alternatively, join one of the guided tours and learn more about the stories surrounding the magnificent Fort Canning Hill. There will be activities for the whole family. Be enthralled by the visually stunning light art installations such as Land-pass Bird, Reflecting Holons and Keys of Light. In addition, enjoy the music performances by local talents as part of the programming for Keys of Light, or interact with the installation by playing a tune on the piano to create an array of magical light displays. Various food and drinks options will also be provided at the festival. Come check out the kiosks and picnic under the stars! SG Pianists x Keys of Light 8pm, 9pm, 10pm (Thursdays) | 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm (Fridays and Saturdays) | Free Enjoy a series of memorable piano recitals by local music talents who combine their artistry with the technical virtuosity of this light art installation. 1 Featured pianists include – Singapore Management University (SMU) Ivory Keys – Formed in 2007 by a community of music and piano lovers, the SMU Ivory Keys feature pianists that dabble in pop, jazz, Japanese and classical music. Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) Klaiverensemble – NP Klaiverensemble is a piano ensemble that aims to raise the standard of piano playing in NP as well as spread the beautiful music of the piano. Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Piano Ensemble – The long-running NTU Piano Ensemble was founded in 2002, and is well known for its annual classical concert “Eleganza” held in March. National University of Singapore Piano Ensemble (NUSPE) – Founded in 1987 by undergraduates with a passion for the piano and performing, NUSPE plays a repertoire of duet and duo pianos with eclectic influences like jazz and contemporary pop. Eco Lawn @ i Light Singapore 28/01/2019 – 24/02/2019 | The Lawn @ Marina Bay | Free Entry Eco Lawn @ i Light Singapore will take centre stage at The Lawn @ Marina Bay, where environmental sustainability, fitness and social good come together. Anchored by City Gazing Singapore, a sprawling light art installation that suspends in mid-air, the hub will also host upcycling workshops, pop-up booths that retails eco-friendly products, yoga and wellness activities, and film screenings under the stars. Festival-goers can look out for sticker and poster displays indicating the level of straw-free support at various establishments: Level 1 - where patrons are encouraged to go straw-free but straws are still provided for use Level 2 - where plastic straws are available only upon request Level 3 - where alternatives (such as metal straws) are provided instead of plastic straws An educational booth is also available at the Eco Lawn @ i Light Singapore for festival-goers to pledge their support, as they learn about the efforts by Straw Free Singapore to help reduce waste and pollution. Guided and Self-Guided Tours 28/01/19 – 24/02/19 i Light Singapore Hybrid Tour Fridays – Sundays | 7.30pm, 9pm | Up to 40 pax per session | $30 per pax 6 Organised in partnership with Oriental Travel & Tours, i Light Singapore presents a hybrid tour on foot and by boat to orientate visitors around the Festival. Participants will start with a walking tour through the bustling Marina Bay as they visit Eco Lawn @ i Light Singapore and enthralling artworks such as Sails Aloft, a large-scale holographic light art installation set in the waters! This is followed by a 40-minute river cruise across Marina Bay and Singapore River to admire some of Singapore’s most iconic bridges transformed into monumental works of art for the very first time at the Festival.
