Main Crop Stage Agro Advisory Maize Grain filling Light rainfall is expected during the week along with Light to Gentle breeze. Do not apply irrigation. Wheat Harvesting Weather to be cloudy for next few days followed by rainfall over isolated places. Hence crop which have been matured may be harvested only after weather becomes clear. As per Soil Moisture maps the soil moisture of the zones varying Green gram/ from low to moderate. Hence, farmers are advised to maintain Germination/ Seedling optimum soil moisture for proper germination and seedling growth. Black gram One hand weeding may be done to control the prevalent weeds. Vegetables After germination if there is attack of red pumkin beetle it can be Vegetative (Cucurbits) controlled by kerosene oil + ash mixture. Weeding should be done at 4-5 leaf stage along with urea application. Vegetables Vegetative To control Fruit borer use pheromone trap @ 12 nos. per acre. Farmers are advised to stop intercultural operation in the orchard. Mango Fruiting Growers are suggested to take proper measures against fruit drop. Application of plant growth regulator like Planofix (Napthyl Acetic Acid-NAA) @1ml/3 liters of water is advised. To avoid loss of essential body salts due to increasing temperature in animals ensure that a salt mixture in appropriate quantity is mixed Animal - with the feed and water and given to animals. Deworming of animals Husbandry should be carried out. Light rainfall is expected along with gusty wind and lightening. In Bihar (India), about 16 districts have been reported to be affected with arsenic poisoning. In the present study, Tilak Rai Ka Hatta village, a flood plain Diara region of river Ganga in Buxar district was targeted for the ground water arsenic assessment and health related problems assessments among the village population. Altogether, 120 water samples were randomly collected for arsenic estimation and their results were statistically analysed. While for assessment of health related problems in the village people, 120 biological samples (blood) were collected from the same households. The study showed high contamination of arsenic in the ground water as three fourth region of the entire village had arsenic levels more than 100 ppb. The typical symptoms of hyperkeratosis in the palm and sole, melanosis of the skin in the village people were highly prevalent.

The large scale shift in the water resource allocation from surface water to groundwater in India exposed millions of people to the arsenic through groundwater. Arsenic induced toxicity in human blood cells has been evident from the several cases like Megaloblastic Dyserythropoietic Anemia, Pancytopenia. The present study is aims to know about the toxic effect of arsenic on human health by exploring blood arsenic concentration, some free radical assessment [Malondialdehyde (MDA), Glutathione Peroxidase (GPx)] and hematological parameters (RBC, Hb, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC and WBC) evaluation. The subjects belong from our recently explored arsenic hit area of Bihar. The result reveals maximum blood arsenic concentration as 706.1 μg/L while the mean blood arsenic concentration was 83.04 ± 10.60 μg/L in adult male and 70.47 ± 18.49 μg/L in adult female which was calculated corresponding to 228.105 ± 18.942 μg/L mean arsenic concentration in their drinking water.

    DISTRICT PROFILE BUXAR INTRODUCTION Buxar district is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar. The present district of Buxar, comprising of Buxar Sadar and Dumraon sub- division of the erstwhile Bhojpur district, came into existence in 1991. Buxar district is a part of Patna division. Buxar district is bounded in the north and west by the districts of Ballia and Ghazipur of Uttar Pradesh, and in the east and south by the districts of Rohtas, Bhojpur and Kaimur of Bihar. The important rivers flowing through the district are Ganges, Thora, Dharmawati and Karmnasha. The Ganges forms the northern boundary of the district while river Karmnasha joins the Ganges near Chausa. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND The etymology of word Buxar is "Vyaghra Sar" which in Sanskrit means tiger and pond respectively. It is said that the tiger face of Rishi Vedshira, an outcome of the curse of the sage Rishi Durvasha, was restored after bathing in a holy tank which was later named as VyaghraSar. Buxar finds reference in Ramayana, Brahma Purana, Varah Purana and other ancient literature. During the pre-historic period, Buxar was the abode of eminent saints and the battlefield of Gods and demons while in modern history it was a combat zone against foreign invasions. Buxar has many historical sites and is famous as a town of temples. Archaeological findings at Buxar have established a link of Buxar with ancient civilizations of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa. The historic battle of Buxar was fought here in 1764. It heralded the establishment of the rule of the East India Company in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent.
