Dr. Felisa Wolfe-Simon ● Discovered bacterium , GFAJ-1 (of the family of ),from Mono Lake, California. ● Reported to use arsenic instead of phosphate ● Reported could grow using arsenic and no phosphorous with the substituting arsenic for phosphorus in many important molecules in its body, including DNA.
