Many committees include details of their future business on their webpages, which can be accessed at: http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/business/committees/index.htm Health and Sport Committee 11 June 2013 19th Meeting, 2013 The Committee will meet at 9.45 am in Committee Room 4 1. Decisions on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 4 in private and whether its consideration of the draft report should be taken in private at future meetings. 2. Welfare Reform – Impact on GP Services: The Committee will take evidence from— Dr Alan McDevitt, Chairman, Scottish General Practitioners Committee, BMA Scotland; Tressa Burke, Director and Trustee - Inclusion Scotland - Chief Executive, Glasgow Disability Alliance. 3. Inquiry into teenage pregnancy (in private): The Committee will consider a draft report. 4. Access to newly licensed medicines: The Committee will consider a draft report. Proposed future business At its next meeting, on 18 June, the Committee expects to consider oral evidence from NHS Boards on NHS Boards Budget Scrutiny; a draft report on Access to newly licensed medicines; its approach to the Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Bill and subordinate legislation. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 4 in private. 2. Tackling child sexual exploitation in Scotland: The Committee will take evidence from— Daljeet Dagon, Children’s Services Manager, Barnardo’s Scotland; Julian Heng, Service Manager, NHS Open Road; Liz Ray, National Learning and Development Lead, Who Cares? Tackling child sexual exploitation in Scotland: The Committee will consider the evidence heard at agenda item 2. Proposed future business At its next meeting, on 25 June, the Committee expects to take evidence as part of its inquiry into tackling child sexual exploitation in Scotland and consider petitions on effective thyroid and adrenal testing, diagnosis and treatment, improvement of services and resources to tackle chronic pain, a ban on the presence of free methanol in all manufactured products, flood insurance problems, investigating the cause of miscarriage, Scottish standards for the care of adult congenital heart patients, improving awareness of the cancer risks in organ transplantation, hyperemesis specialist nurses, a register of interests for members of Scotland’s judiciary, evictions due to under occupation deductions and neighbour notification distances for wind turbines.
