AHMAD JAMAL PLAYS WCLK BENEFIT CONCERT GRAMMY® Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient and National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Jazz Master and Kennedy Center Living Jazz Legend, Ahmad Jamal, plays Atlanta for the Jazz 91.9 WCLK 45th Anniversary Fall Benefit Concert on Thursday, December 12, 8:00 p.m. at the Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech. The WCLK Benefit Concert is a hallmark of the Jazz 91.9 WCLK 45th Anniversary Celebration. During the Jazz 91.9 WCLK show, Jazz 91.9 WCLK will pay tribute to Jamal as a 2019 recipient of the Jazz Affiliations 91.9 WCLK Jazz Legacy Award. A phenomenal pianist, Jamal will explore the full breadth of his remarkable offerings, which was cemented with the classic 1958 album, At the Pershing: But Not for Me, featuring his definitive recording of “Poinciana.” Reserve your seats today! The Atlanta Business League (ABL) Annual Meeting serves as a yearly recap that acknowledges the accomplishments of the ABL and its members. It also recognizes African American owned businesses that have conducted business continuously for more than 25 years, and includes and induction ceremony entering them into the ABL Business Hall of Fame. Volume 12, Issue 11 Page 4 Ernest EC3 Coleman is a Drummer, Percussionist, Clinician, Educator, Producer and Arranger. EC was the youngest Musician to graduate from The Naval School of Music. After graduating he moved to Las Vegas and began working shows and breaking his way in to the Jazz scene. There he joined Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett’s Jazz Pianist, Vincent Falcone. Shortly thereafter, EC became the “first call’ Drummer on the Vegas Scene. EC was then hired by Songstress Loretta Holloway and became her Musical Director, performing in Vegas and all over the world. EC also performed with the Las Vegas Symphony Orchestra, the Caesars Palace Orchestra, Harrah, Reno and Tahoe Orchestras. EC went on to develop the rare Quality of “conducting from behind the drums while performing with Ms. Holloway, opening for Bill Cosby, Jay Leno, Whoopi Goldberg and a host of other greats!
