Alle Angaben wurden nach bestem Wissen überprüft, Fehler sind aber nicht auszuschließen. Für Anmerkungen und Korrekturen bin ich sehr dankbar. Fassung, Stand März 2017 Jürgen Deckert & Gerhard Burghardt Zusammenfassung: Es wird eine Checkliste und Rote Liste der Wanzen (Insecta: Hetero- ptera) Berlins vorgelegt. Die Liste umfasst 502 Wanzenarten, die gegenwärtig in Berlin vorkommen oder die seit Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts wenigstens einmal hier gefunden wurden. 88 Arten (18 %) werden als (regional) verschollen oder ausgestorben betrachtet und 271 Arten (54 %) als nicht bedroht. Sieben Arten sind Neobiota und 11 sind seit 2005 das erste Mal in Berlin nachgewiesen worden. Die wenigen publizierten Arbeiten der letzten Jahre und das Fehlen systematischer Untersuchungen erschweren die Einschät- zung der Häufigkeit vieler Arten und ihre Klassifizierung hinsichtlich des Rote-Liste-Status. Besonders bedroht sind Arten von Feuchtgebieten, von fließenden und stehenden Gewässern, Uferbereichen, sowie Arten des Offenlandes. Die Ursachen liegen wie seit Jahren in der zunehmenden Bebauung, Zerstörung, Degradierung und Isolation der Standorte und in der Eutrophierung der Lebensräume. -

True bugs are relatively poorly known in the Pieniny Mts., while, significantly better situation is in the Polish part of the mountains where 263 species have been known until now. Unfortunately, only 34 species had been recorded from the Slovak part of the Pieniny Mts. until 2017. During the last short survey in 2017, which took place within XLI. East Slovak Camp of Environmentalists, 54 previously unrecorded species were examined increasing the number of species known from the Slovak part of Pieniny Mts. to 88. The total number of species in Polish and Slovak parts of the Pieniny Mts. reaches as many as 272. PP Elm Seed Bug, Arocatus Melanocephalus: an Exotic Invasive
Elm seed bug, Arocatus melanocephalus: an exotic invasive pest new to the U.S. Idaho State Department of Agriculture In summer 2012, the elm seed bug (ESB), an invasive insect new to the U.S., was first identified from specimens collected in Ada and Canyon counties in Idaho. During 2013 it was found to have spread to Elmore, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, and Washington counties as well as Malheur County, Oregon. Commonly distributed in south-central Europe, ESB feeds primarily on the seeds of elm trees, although they have also been collected from oak and linden trees in Europe. The insect does not damage trees or buildings, nor does it present any threat to human health. However, due to its habit of entering houses and other buildings in large numbers to escape the summer heat and later to Adult elm seed bugs overwinter, it can be a significant nuisance to ISDA photo homeowners. Elm seed bug biology Elm seed bugs spend the winter as hibernating adults, mate during the spring and lay eggs on elm trees. Immature ESB feed on elm seeds from May through June becoming adults by early summer. Elm seed bugs are most noticeable in springtime as overwintering ESB begin to emerge inside buildings and try to escape, during hot periods in the summer when ESB attempt to enter buildings to get away from the heat, and in the autumn when they enter buildings to overwinter. Meeting called to order by the Chair at 8:13 am followed by introduction of the Chair and Secretary. Attendees welcomed to the meeting, Secretary counted 25 attendees at the start of the meeting, all attendees present introduced themselves before the coffee break (9:50 am). 2. Chair outlined the agenda for the meeting and noted two additions: a. Lindsey Goudis, BASF to give insecticide update (Section 8.3) b. Ana Dal Molin to give update on development of app for insect, weed, and disease identification (Section 9.4, Special Reports) -No other additions to the agenda Scott Hartley motioned for the agenda to be accepted as revised. Motion seconded by Keith Gabert. Motion passed. 3. Minutes from 2016 meeting in Saskatoon SK briefly summarized. No comments/concerns were raised concerning the minutes. Resolutions: One outstanding resolution from 2016 was noted: The need to write to the provinces regarding attendance of provincial scientists at WFPM.
