There are many changes and reforms to fire and rescue service policy which is being implemented which fit into three key themes: • efficiency and collaboration – we have a statutory duty to collaborate with other emergency services in the Policing and Crime Act 2017, to include co-response, co-location, joint /national procurement • accountability and transparency – including the introduction of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabularies and Fire & Rescues Services (HMICFRS) • workforce reform – flexible duty systems, apprenticeships, diverse workforce, attracting and retaining staff, professional leadership, talent pipeline, service culture and staff engagement, national professional standards HMICFRS independently assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of police forces and fire and rescue services, providing information which allows the public to compare the performance of their fire and rescue service against others and used to drive improvements in the services they provide to the public. The HMICFRS inspect fire and rescue services regularly and report on efficiency, effectiveness and people – in line with the areas of reform. The changes will influence our future and we will need to ensure we consider the reforms and how we can play our part in fulfilling the government's commitment to deliver greater joint working between public services. 8 Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service | Integrated Risk Management Plan 2019-2022 Cornwall Council Fire Authority The Fire Authority comprises of 123 elected provide the Committee with an Annual Statement Cornwall Councillors, overseeing the policy and of Assurance, for each year covered by the IRMP, delivery of our fire and rescue services. Ahead of the next Cornwall Council elections in May 2021, this performance report sets out how far we’ve come in delivering on the commitments we made to the people of Cornwall four years ago. Priorities for Cornwall Performance Report 2017 - 2021 | 2 Welcome In 2017 the Council set five Priorities for Cornwall for the organisation to focus on delivering over the next four years. Despite the significant and foreseen challenges faced, particularly over the last year, the Council has worked tirelessly to ensure the commitments made in 2017 have been met. The achievements set out in this performance report are credit to the Council This has been particularly evident over the last 12 months as Cornwall rallied and members, officers and our partners.

PLEASE TAKE A COPY Page 1 PUBLIC MEETING TINTAGEL PARISH COUNCIL ARE CONSIDERING PRODUCING A NEIGHBOURHOOD DEVELOPMENT PLAN YOU ARE INVITED TO A PUBLIC MEETING AT TINTAGEL SOCIAL HALL WEDNESDAY 29TH JANUARY 2014 7.00 P.M. COME ALONG AND HAVE YOUR SAY OR TO OFFER HELP NEIGHBOURHOOD DEVELOPMENT PLANS A Neighbourhood Development Plan is important as it enables local residents to have control of the environment and development in the local area. Without an approved plan there is virtually nothing the community can do to influence the development of housing, infrastructure, amenities and the environment. However, without the active involvement and support of local residents it will not be possible to complete the Plan, obtain approval and ensure that it is embodied in the Cornwall Council Plan as a legal document that has to be recognised in all future development approvals. Tintagel Parish Council will be mailing every household in the Parish shortly explaining the Plan along with a very short response form inviting offers of help.
