    The Football Program One of the school’s most successful athletic programs, the Ithaca football team also ranks among the top programs in the nation. Williams College junior quarterback Patrick Lucey has been named ECAC Northeast Player of the Year, in addition to first team offensive honors. The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Offensive Player of the Year led the Ephs to an 8-0 record this season and the NESCAC Championship. Lucey threw for 1,528 yards on the season with 14 passing touchdowns and ended the season with a 165.8 passing efficiency rating. United States Coast Guard Academy freshman defensive back Steve Arguellas has earned ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Year honors for his debut while being named to the defensive first team and the special teams first team. Arguellas ended the year with 59 total tackles and a nation;s best 11 interceptions. He averaged 24.9 kick return yards per game and 22.6 punt return yards. The ECAC will honor seven football players of the year and rookies of the year this month. These include one each in Division I-A, I-AA and II and four in the Division III (Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest). Throughout the season, the conference honored more than 150 players of the week in the publicity bureau. Lucey and Arguellas will be honored at the annual Eastern College Football Awards Banquet presented by FieldTurf Tarkett in February 2007.
