David Marr III David Marr III Biography David Marr III serves as the main interviewer, tower announcer and host of early round broadcasts for The Golf Channel’s Champions Tour coverage and hosts Champions Tour Learning Center , a weekly, 30-minute show dedicated to game improvement and featuring a variety of players currently competing on the Champions Tour. He also hosts the annual Champions Tour preview, mid year and year in review shows as well as Charles Schwab’s “Talk to a Pro”, this year featuring Charles Schwab, Hank Haney and Mark O’Meara. He also reports for Golf Central from the Champions Tour majors, provides historical perspective during the network’s coverage of major championships and appears regularly on the Top 10 series. He made his debut with The Golf Channel as its first Golf Central Updates anchor, anchored Golf Central and hosted Golf Talk , The Grey Goose 19th Hole , Golf Academy , Leaderboard Report , and Drive, Chip and Putt as well as other shows. Prior to joining The Golf Channel, Marr served as a commentator for WHDH-TV (NBC, Boston) during the 1999 Ryder Cup Matches as well as conducting interviews for USGA radio during the US Open and commentated for PGA.com during its coverage of the PGA Championship. In 2008 he was part of the Sirrius/XM radio team which broadcast the Ryder Cup. He is the son of 1965 PGA Championship winner, 1965 Ryder Cup player and 1981 Ryder Cup Captain Dave Marr. A New York City native, Marr III is a graduate of Bucknell University. .

Known as The Ambassador, The Natural and The Athlete, the three members of the World Golf Hall of Fame received the prestigious award for exemplifying the traits Mr. Marr lived by on and off the golf course – sportsmanship, honesty, integrity and a passion for the game. Mann, whose career spanned throughout the 1960’s and 70s, is a winner of 38 LPGA TOUR events with two of the first three being majors. A television broadcaster and golf instructor for hundreds of enthusiasts, her impact on the game extended far beyond the course. A female pioneer in the golf business, Mann was known as the “First Lady of Golf” – being the first woman to do course design and create a management company. Mickey Wright turned professional in 1955 after her education at Stanford University. The year she sparked a remarkable career that included 13 wins before the 1950’s were complete. She chalked up six victories in 1960 followed by four straight seasons where she racked up double digit wins each season. Between 1961 and 1964, “The Natural” changed the face of the LPGA TOUR winning 44 events including eight majors.

    THE 2006 PGA MEDIA GUIDE – 411 PGA of America Awards ¢ PGA Player of the Year The PGA Player of the Year Award is given to the top PGA Tour player based on his tournament wins, official money standing and scoring average. The point system for selecting the PGA Player of the Year was amended in 1982 and is as follows: 30 points for winning the PGA Championship, U.S. Open, British Open or Masters; 20 points for winning The Players Championship; and 10 points for winning all other designated PGA Tour events. In addition, there is a 50-point bonus for winning two majors, 75-point bonus for winning three, 100-point bonus for winning four. For top 10 finishes on the PGA Tour’s official money and scoring average lists for the year, the point value is: first, 20 points, then 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2.     PGA OF AMERICA HALL OF FAME - Class of 2019 DAVIS LOVE III, PGA Davis Love III was born into a golfing family in Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of legendary PGA Teaching Professional Davis Love Jr., and mother, Helen, an accomplished amateur golfer. By age 10, Davis knew that he wanted to be a professional golfer. He followed an impressive junior career to earn a scholarship to the University of North Carolina where he was a three-time All-American golfer and the 1984 Atlantic Coast Conference Champion. In 1985, Love competed on the U.S. Walker Cup team before turning professional later that year. He won his first PGA TOUR event in 1987 at the MCI Heritage Golf Classic at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Love would go on to win this event five times during his career. His 21 PGA TOUR victories include the 1997 PGA Championship and a pair of win at THE PLAYERS Championship in 1992 and 2003. Just as Love was about to seal his PGA Championship victory with a birdie on the 18th hole at Winged Foot Golf Club, a rainbow appeared overhead. The setting and the emotional final moments connected Love’s victory to his father, a member of the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame who perished in a 1988 airplane accident. Love became one of nine PGA Champions whose father was a PGA of America member. In 1994, Love launched Love Golf Design, a company with his brother, Mark. In 2010, he began hosting the RSM McGladrey Classic.
