David Marr III Biography David Marr III serves as the main interviewer, tower announcer and host of early round broadcasts for The Golf Channel’s Champions Tour coverage and hosts Champions Tour Learning Center , a weekly, 30-minute show dedicated to game improvement and featuring a variety of players currently competing on the Champions Tour. He also hosts the annual Champions Tour preview, mid year and year in review shows as well as Charles Schwab’s “Talk to a Pro”, this year featuring Charles Schwab, Hank Haney and Mark O’Meara. He also reports for Golf Central from the Champions Tour majors, provides historical perspective during the network’s coverage of major championships and appears regularly on the Top 10 series. He made his debut with The Golf Channel as its first Golf Central Updates anchor, anchored Golf Central and hosted Golf Talk , The Grey Goose 19th Hole , Golf Academy , Leaderboard Report , and Drive, Chip and Putt as well as other shows. Prior to joining The Golf Channel, Marr served as a commentator for WHDH-TV (NBC, Boston) during the 1999 Ryder Cup Matches as well as conducting interviews for USGA radio during the US Open and commentated for PGA.com during its coverage of the PGA Championship. In 2008 he was part of the Sirrius/XM radio team which broadcast the Ryder Cup. He is the son of 1965 PGA Championship winner, 1965 Ryder Cup player and 1981 Ryder Cup Captain Dave Marr. A New York City native, Marr III is a graduate of Bucknell University. .
