Brighter Boroughbridge and District have launched their exciting new project, 'Boroughbridge Welcomes the World'. This is part of the ' Welcomes the World' branding for the UCI World Cycling Championship event, based in Harrogate and to be held 21- 29th September. On Friday the 27th September one of the races comes through Boroughbridge town centre. We are intending to trim up the town with knitted jersey bunting and decorated, cut-out bikes. Anyone interested in knitting can contact Hazel Goss (on 323123 or [email protected]) for a wool/pattern kit and return finished items to the Community Library. Cut-out bikes will be available for sale at £10 each (£15 painted white) for anyone wanting to join in and decorate their own. Anyone interested in finding out more, our next meeting is at The Crown Hotel on Thurs 23rd May at 1900. There is also a roadshow, giving more information about the event, to be held by the promoters of the event at The Crown Hotel on Thurs 16th May at 1630

Jigsaw Club in the Jubilee Room Jigsaw Club meets twice a month on the first and third Thursday afternoons, at 1400, in the Jubilee Room above Boroughbridge Library. Come along and enjoy a cuppa whilst doing a jigsaw. We have lots of jigsaws which can be completed in a session. Cost is £1 per session. Boroughbridge & District Community Care (BCC) Every Friday morning, 1000 – 1130 am: drop-in coffee morning in the Jubilee Room above the library; tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits; refills free; £2.00; all welcome. Lunch Club: is held every Wednesday in Gwendolen Court between 1200 and 1300. Cost is £4.50 for a two-course meal and tea/coffee. Free transport available, if required. ANNUAL MEETING - KIRBY HILL AND DISTRICT PARISH COUNCIL The annual parish meeting will be at 1830 on Monday, April 29, 2019, in Coronation Hall. The meeting is open to residents of the parishes of Kirby Hill, , Ellenthorpe, Humberton and Thornton Bridge and provides an opportunity to find out more about the work of the Kirby Hill and District Parish Council

Boroughbridge Hightimers Production Hightimers are performing “A Bunch of Amateurs”, a play by Ian Hislop, in Coronation Hall, Thursday – Saturday, April 25-27, 1930. Boroughbridge Junior FC Presentation and Fun Day Boroughbridge Junior FC’s Presentation and Fun Day takes place this year on Sunday, May 19, at Boroughbridge Sports Association on Aldborough Road, Boroughbridge. The event takes place between 1130 and 1500 and is open to players, parents and families. As with previous years, there will be a bouncy castle for the youngest children, inflatable, BBQ, tombola, bar, sweets stall, face painting, target shooting, plus plenty of supervised football games and more. Just £3 per child gives all-day access to the bouncy castle and inflatables. Can you provide gifts for the tombola? Wine, beer, chocolates, household items, vouchers and gift items are all welcome. If you run a business, can you offer a discount or special offer or why not pop an extra item in your basket when shopping? Donations can be given to team managers, dropped off by contacting [email protected] or by contacting the club via Facebook – just search for Boroughbridge Junior Football
