It is a historic place that holds significance of representing the tension and conflict that existed during the Cold War and is testimony to the division of the Korean Peninsula. 【Koryo Museum】was a Confucian educational facility of Koryo dynasty but now it became a museum displayed historical remains and relics showing the foundation and development of Koryo dynasty. 【Mausoleum of King Wang Kon】founder of Koryo Dynasty as King Taejo which listed as World’s Cultural Heritages. 【Janam Hill: Kim IL Sung statue】“Kim Il-sung Watching from on High”. This is the best vantage point of the city, with a magnificent view of Kaesong’s old town filled with preserved traditional-style housing. 【Monument to Three Charters for National Reunification】The vaulted white granite monument depicts two women in the north and south wearing traditional Korean garmets, leaning forward to jointly uphold a sphere bearing a map of a reunified Korea. 【Mangyongdae Native House】The birthplace of Kim Il Sung. This area has been kept in pristine condition and is considered a sacred site to the North Koreans. 【Pyongyang Metro】is among the deepest metros in the world, with the track at over 110 metres (360 ft) deep underground. Day 4: Pyongyang – Sinpyong Tea House (*Own Expenses) - Ulim Waterfall - Wonsan - Wonsan Square – Old Wonsan Railway Station Museum - Chonsam Co-operative Farm - Mt.Kumgang - Sijung Beach Tea House (* Own Expenses) 【Ulim Waterfall】The Ulim Waterfalls are named after the Korean word for echo or vibration, appropriate as the rumbling sound of the falls extend over a 4 kilometers radius. The falls were routinely driven by on the way to Wonsan until its discovery by soldiers. Because of this coincidence, the 60 meters high cascade has become a tourist destination. 【Wonson City】a port city east of DPR Korea. 【Wonsan Square】located right on the sea. Wonsan’s bronze statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il can also be viewed here. 【Old Wonsan Railway Station Museum】This station is a "revolutionary site" because Kim Il Sung boarded a train here, after his Triumphant return at the end of WWII. 【Chonsam Co-operative Farm】Chonsam Cooperative Farm started its roots as 3 small villages. The largest of which was called Chon and sam is the Korean word for 3. The farm was founded in October of 1952, it has now grown to take up 500 hectares, 300 of those are dedicated to rice patty fields. 1700 people live in the area surrounding the farm, 800 of those are farmers and the remainder takes on supporting operations. Janam Hill: Kim IL Sung Monument to Three Charters for Arch of Triumph National Reunification statue Day 5: Mt.Kumgang - Sea Kumgang - Lagoon Samil - Masikryong Ski Resort 【Mt. Kumgang】Mount Kumgang has been known since antiquity as one of the most picturesque places in East Asia. The mountain and its foothills have many jagged rocks and peaks (12,000 have been counted), precipices and stone pillars formed by erosion, deep ponds and waterfalls, a variety of thick broad-leaved and needle-leaved trees. The area is dotted with wonderful scenic spots, valleys, waterfalls, coastline and historic sites, best enjoyed on foot whilst taking in the fresh mountain air. Your programmes of the day include walking up to Kuryong (Nine dragon) Waterfall (4 km) in Outer Kumgang. According to a legend, nine dragons once lived at the foot of Kumgang Mountain, and so we have the Kuryong Falls – Nine Dragons Waterfall. Reaching some 74 metres in height, it is an impressive sight, and there is a great hike to the top which is dotted with small rock pools. For faster trekkers can get further up to Paldam (Eight Faries Ponds). 【Sea Kumgang 】The Sea Kumgang area is known for the lagoons and stone pillars. 【Lagoon Samil】The lagoon in the past used to be connected to the sea. The lagoon is 9-13 meters deep and has a circumference of 8 km. According to legend, a king once visited the lake for a day but was so amazed by its beauty that he stayed there for three days, hence the name Samil (three days). Day 6: Masikryong Hotel - Mausoleum of the King Tongmyong (B22-AD4) and Jongrung Temple - Pyongyang - Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum - USS Pueblo - Mansudae Fountain Park - Mansudae Grand Monument - Chollima Statue - Tower of Juche Idea - Kim Il Sung Square 【Mausoleum of the King Tongmyong (B22-AD4) and Jongrung Temple】King Tongmyong is the founder of Koguryo Dynasty. The mausoleum demonstrates the worship of King Tongmyong as well as the excellent architecture of the period. 【Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum】monument which are showing the history of Korean War (19501953). 【USS Pueblo】the “American Spy Ship” captured in 1968. 【Mansudae Fountain Park】The big fountain has jets of water reaching up to 80 meters high and between the jets of water there are all white statues of groups of women playing or dancing. 【Mansudae Grand Monument】A giant bronze monument to Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il is one of the most sacred sites in North Korea. 【Chollima Statue】This North Korean pegasus statue was built as a symbol of the speed and perseverance of North Korean workers. 【Tower of Juche Idea】A highly symbolic tower in honor of Supreme Leader Kim Il-sung’s personal philosophy. 【Kim Il Sung Square】Kim Il Sung Square is Pyongyang’s central square where North Korea’s massive military parades normally take place. Day 7: Pyongyang – Mt Myohyang – Pohyonsa Buddhist Temple - Internatioanl Friendship Exhibition - Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace - Changjon Street 【Mt.Myohyang】is one of the six celebrated mountains of Korea. The area is now a national park and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. 【Pohyonsa Buddhist Temple】Nestled in the wilderness of Mt. Myohyang, the temple is close to 1000 years old, and has been rebuilt 3 times since its initial construction. The temple has a long history of enduring warfare, even serving as a stronghold against the Japanese 400 years ago. 【Internatioanl Friendship Exhibition】A bizarre collection of gifts to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il from the despots of the world. 【Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace】 where you might have opportunity to walk around classes to see them practice extra-curricular activities such as calligraphy, playing traditional instrucments and dancing.
