Casino Night 2020 Mardi Gras Casino Night 2020 Note that this is a preview copy of our program booklet and changes may be made prior to our Casino Night. St. Catherine of Alexandria, Milwaukee February 15, 2020 St. Catherine’s Mardi Gras Casino Night is most grateful for the very generous support of tonight’s event sponsor, an anonymous parish family. Given in honor of Debbie Hintz, our parish director, and her time at St. Catherine. Welcome to St. Catherine’s Mardi Gras Casino Night. We hope you have a great time … and lots of luck! In addition to the casino games, give these a try tonight. Heads and Tails Have your $5 bills ready to play Heads and Tails a few times tonight. It will cost you $5 to play. Instructions will be given. The person left standing in the end will receive half the amount collected each time we play. Unlock the Box Also have your $5 bills ready to Unlock the Box. 75 keys will be sold and whoever has the key that first unlocks the box wins $75. There are 3 keys that open the box to increase your chances. However, only the first person who unlocks it wins the $75 prize. The other 2 winners will win a $25 gift card. Line up at the Wine & Beer Pull table to give your key a try once all keys are sold. Wine Pull For $10, draw a numbered cork and receive the corresponding numbered bottle of wine. All bottles have a retail value of at least $10, but you could be lucky and win a bottle of greater value. Craft Beer Pull For $8, or $15 for 2, draw a numbered bottle cap and receive the corresponding numbered pack of beer. All packs have a retail value of at least $7. 2 Here are a few pointers to help you tonight. Play Money and Chips You received $500 in play money when you arrived. Cash that in for chips at one of the casino tables. If you run out of chips, you can make a donation to receive additional chips at the Chips Table located at the Bar. There’s a suggested donation of $5 for $500 in chips. The Raffle At the end of the evening, the dealers will cash your chips in for raffle tickets. You will receive 1 raffle ticket for every $250 in chips. (However, numbers will be rounded up, so $255 will get you 2 tickets.) Hold on to your tickets. Identical tickets will be deposited in the raffle drum for you. The raffle will begin at 9:30 p.m. As winning tickets are announced, winners will take an envelope from the roulette wheel. Each envelope has a gift card. You won’t know what’s inside until you open it, but you are guaranteed a card worth $20 or $25. (The majority are $25.) Beverages You received two free beverages (wine, soda or beer) with your ticket. Additional drinks are available for a donation. Silent Auction The silent auction tables close at different times. See the following pages. When bidding on items, make sure to pay attention to the amount indicated for the initial bid as well as the amount needed for increments. For example, if the initial bid is $100, you cannot start bidding at $90. If the bid increment is $5, the next available bid after $100 would be $105. Checkout. The names of winning bidders will be called and you will be given a confirmation sheet. You can check out immediately or you can wait until the end of the night and pay for multiple items together. Checkout will be in the lobby. Credit cards will be accepted for payment in addition to cash and checks. 3 Tonight’s Menu Appetizers 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Deviled Eggs Pineapple/Pecan Cheese Spread Spinach Quiche Squares Balsamic Bruschetta Swedish Meatballs Sweet Potato Bacon Bites Pineapple Glazed Meatballs Mexican Chili Dip Veggie Pizza North Star Cheesy Bread Bakes Buffalo Chicken Dip Bloody Mary’s on a Stick Sausage Stars (contain vodka) Dinner 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Ham and Turkey Sandwiches Mini Wraps Cole Slaw Macaroni & Cheese Relishes Fresh Vegetables Fresh Fruit Assorted Cheeses Potato Chips Dessert 7:30 p.m. Assorted Cakes, Bars and Cookies Decaf Coffee with Dinner & Dessert 4 Purple Table Table will close at 7 p.m. P-1 Get Your Coffee Fix Value: $65 $25 Colectivo, $25 Fiddleheads & $15 Starbucks gift cards Donated by St. Catherine parishioners P-2 Starbucks Holiday Basket Value: $36 Continue to enjoy the holiday season with one pound whole bean bags of Starbucks Holiday Blend and Christmas Blend; Christmas mug (Starbucks assures us these beans will still be fresh!) The COVID-19 pandemic impacted all aspects of our lives, forcing us to lockdown and change our most basic daily routines to protect our own health and the safety of everyone around us. The issues of racial injustice required us all to consider how we can individually and collectively overcome the inequities in our society and provide more opportunity and access for all members of our community. After a strong start to the year, Discovery World closed its doors to the public on March 13 with the hope that we would reopen after a few short weeks. Our closure lasted much longer and it was not until July that we reopened with limited capacity. We faced further challenges as health indicators forced us to close again in November for another extended period.
