They were hon- ored to meet Dr. Tim Elmore, president, author and founder of “Growing Leaders.” Dr. Elmore is committed to developing the next generation of leaders who know how to influence their world. He is the author of several books, including the confer- ence’s focus, Habitudes: Images That Form Leadership Habits and Attitudes. The conference provided the students with the opportunity to meet other leaders from high schools all over the southeast. Ennis Munnerlyn Mr. Ennis Munnerlyn has been an em- ployee of the Mobile County Public School System for twenty one years. He is a system mail carrier and distribu- tion worker. Mr. Munnerlyn delivers the mail to the schools in the southwest area. His work begins when most em- ployees are just rising out of bed. He organizes the mail on his route by sort- ing and bagging for the day’s delivery. Murphy High School’s culinary team recently participated in the state STAR events competition at Culinard in Birmingham, Alabama. The student team members consisting of: Jasmine Robbins, Lori Jardet, Elizabeth Milne and Lovell Taylor traveled with Murphy’s Executive Chef Leslie Thorpe and Culinary Arts teacher Annette Johnson. The team placed an impressive "Silver" and also received Best of Show comments for Jasmine Rob- bins' "Mint Chocolate Custard with Rasp- berry Sauce." The students are members of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), which is one of the Career Technical Service Organizations at Murphy. Members of the MHS chapter of FCCLA will attend other rounds of compe- tition with another visit to Birmingham in March for the state conference of FCCLA.
