Cortes settled down from there and allowed only one more hit in his 6.0 innings of work. The southpaw struck out six batters on August 26 @ Lehigh Valley L 5-3 the night, including Refsnyder in the third to cap an epic 17-pitch battle. August 27 @ Lehigh Valley W 9-8 (10) August 28 Syracuse L 10-2 Austin Pruitt was even stronger on the mound for the Bulls on Wednesday night, hurling 6.0 shutout frames despite several threats from August 29 Syracuse W 2-1 the RailRiders. SWB pushed runners into scoring position in the first and fifth innings, but Pruitt didn’t break and allow a run. August 30 Syracuse W 3-2 In the top of the seventh the Bulls added a run against Brady Lail to extend their lead to 3-0. With two outs Jason Coats tripled to right August 31 Pawtucket W 3-1 center and scored on an infield single from Jake Cronenworth. The righty reliever worked around a leadoff single in the eighth to toss a September 1 Pawtucket L 3-0 scoreless frame to cap his night. September 2 @ Pawtucket W 3-2 September 3 @ Pawtucket W 5-1 The Bulls tacked on two more runs in the top of the ninth inning when Nate Lowe took Cale Coshow deep for a two-run home run to extend a 5-0 advantage. In the bottom of the ninth Giovanny Urshela doubled and scored on a two-run home run from Mike Ford, but Colin Poche hung on to close out the 5-2 Durham victory. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre holds a 7-6 mark in playoffs series as a Yankees affiliate and an overall playoff record of 26- 22 in that time frame. Crisp was detained and taken to City of Scottsdale Jail before being released Wednesday morning. He showed up to Phoenix Municipal Stadium on time to join the team for pre-game drills and was in uniform -- but not in the lineup -- for a game against the Cleveland Indians. Crisp declined to comment when asked about the situation, saying he would address the media "in due time." "The A's are aware of the situation and take such matters seriously," the A's statement read. "The team and Coco will have no further comment until further details are available." Crisp, 31, is in his second season with the A's and is slated to play center field and be the leadoff hitter. Ironically, the A's held a security meeting with Major League Baseball officials before taking the field Wednesday. A message that is stressed in the annual meeting is having awareness of the off-field dangers that exist for professional athletes. Crisp signed with the A's as a free agent in December 2009. He hit .279 with eight homers and 38 RBIs last season but played in just 75 games because of a fractured pinkie and strained rib cage muscle. Crisp posts frequently on his Twitter account and often makes reference to his nighttime socializing.
