Sanmartin (1-3) suffered losses in each of his first three starts with the 2018 Second Half Standings RiverDogs but managed his first win by allowing just four hits and striking out five GreenJackets in his six frames. The Colombian southpaw did not walk a batter in his outing and has issued just three Northern Division W L GB free passes in 20 2/3 innings with Charleston. *Lakewood (Phillies) 20 11 - Delmarva (Orioles) 18 12 1.5 The RiverDogs took the lead in the opening inning on a two-run double from Oswaldo Cabrera, Hickory (Rangers) 18 12 1.5 scoring Carlos Vidal and Wilkerman Garcia. Charleston added a run in the fourth on an error by Kannapolis (White Sox) 14 15 5.0 Augusta starting pitcher Garrett Cave (5-6), allowing Garcia to reach and left fielder Mitchell Hansen West Virginia (Pirates) 13 15 5.5 to score with two outs. Augusta scored its lone run in the seventh, but Dermis Garcia got the run Greensboro (Marlins) 14 17 6.0 back and more with his two-run blast over the left center field wall off Stetson Woods. Wilkerman Garcia also scored on Dermis Garcia’s 10th long ball of the season. The Colombian hurler dealt six innings with five strikeouts, no walks, and Asheville (Rockies) 15 13 1.0 just one run allowed. The 22-year-old suffered losses in each of his first three outings with Lexington (Royals) 15 14 1.5 Charleston but managed more than five innings for the first time as a Dog on Tuesday. Charleston (Yankees) 15 15 2.0 • Britton to the Bronx: The New York Yankees made a blockbuster trade for Orioles reliver Zach Columbia (Mets) 14 17 3.5 Britton. Charleston shook their season-worst seven-game skid with last Tuesday’s win, their only victory of the previous seven-day homestand, an overall losing streak that was the RiverDogs’ worst since losing 8 in a row in 2014. Charleston has been outscored 68-38 (-30) over the 14-game slump, hitting .218 (95-436) as a team and with a 4.81 staff ERA (63 ER, 118.0 IP) over that span. Still ranking second in the league, Charleston’s staff ERA rose to as high as 3.22 on Sunday, its highest mark since April 11 with the RiverDogs conceding 68 runs in their RiverDogs Quick Stats last 14 games, including 46 from starting pitching alone.
