The Shuckers (38-25) took a 3-0 lead against Jacksonville right-hander Merandy Gonzalez. In the first inning, center fielder Corey Ray hit a leadoff double to right field and stole third base. Left fielder Troy Stokes Jr. walked, and shortstop Jake Hager hit a sacrifice fly. First baseman Jake Gatewood hit an RBI double to left-center field. Ray hit a third-inning leadoff double to right field and went to third base on a passed ball by catcher Rodrigo Vigil, before scoring when Hager grounded into a double play. Gonzalez worked five innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Jacksonville (25- 36) tied the game with two outs in the bottom of the third inning. Biloxi right-hander Zack Brown hit Jumbo Shrimp All-Star center fielder Monte Harrison with a pitch and walked second baseman Isan Diaz, before O’Brien hit a three-run home run to left field, extending a five-game homer streak that is one shy of the Southern League record. -
