GREETING FROM THE R ELIGIOUS E DUCATION O FFICE :

Vacation Bible Camp at St. Clare was an amazing experience. We had participation from over 40 youths from Kindergar- ten through 12th Grade. Our opening ceremonies included a visit from Detroit Circus. Our youth learned to Juggle, Hula Hoop, and had their faces painted. Then they were able to sit back and enjoy performances including contortionists, stilts, balloon making, cubing, hula hooping and juggling. The students wrapped up the day with a Scripture Study and a tasty treat. The rest of the week included carnival games, music, dancing, biblical theatre, crafts, water balloons, snacks, relay races, daily scripture study, and team competitions. Some of the favorite snacks of the week included cotton candy floats and an edible roller coaster track. The children enjoyed learning about St. Paul's Adventures and his journey to bring oth- ers to Christ. Children of all ages don't forget to "Speak up!" like St. Paul and tell others about God's love. I would like to thank everyone at St. Clare of Montefalco for making my first month and my first major event a success. Your parish is warm, inviting, and filled with a passion for Christ and for serving His children. Thank you for allowing me to join your Parish Family.

Please stay tuned for our future Faith Programming events:

Bethlehem Christian Families

We are proud to introduce ourselves as the “Bethlehem Christian Families”, from the Holy Land. We have come to the United States representing the Christian wood carvers of Bethlehem that rely on the tourism to support their families. Due to the bad situation and the interruption of the tourist trade, 150 families of the Holy Land are in danger of having to leave their homes in search of work. Our mission is to bring and sell the Olive Wood Carvings to the Catholic Churches in the United States to help the Christian families remain in their homes and support their families. These Christians who make their livelihood through the selling of their hand carved Olive Wood religious items are depending on us to bring these beautiful carving, such as, Nativity Scenes, , Picture of the Last Supper, and several other religious items to you. GREAT NEW STUDY ON THE BOOK OF ROMANS

A great new study on the Book of Romans will be starting September 23rd and will run through mid May (25 weeks total, some Mondays we will not be meeting) from 12-2pm in the Fellowship Hall of St. Clare Montefalco Church. Paul presents Christ as the second Adam--humanities second chance. Come see how this book fits into God’s plan for all of us, and how it applies to our lives today.

The class requires approximately 2 hours/week of out of class preparation, and will meet weekly for great fellowship, lively small group discussion, prayer and a DVD presentation by a Catholic priest.
