Fall Out Boy’s members include Patrick Stump, Joe Trohman, Pete Wentz, and Andy Hurley, and what a group they are. With no sign of sobriety or Godly fear among them, you are left with little hope for their eternal souls. Wentz has divorced the wife of his youth even though the Lord has said He hates putting away (Malachi 2:16). Trohman is “culturally” Jewish, having denied his Creator and rejected his Savior. Hurley has pledged to remain “straight edge,” meaning he has vowed to abstain from the many sins, such as alcoholism, drugs, promiscuous sex, and others, associated with those in the punk subculture, as well as taking on a vegan lifestyle. He is also a proclaimed anarcho-primitivist, which is a group that believes humans should return to their primitive and non-civilized ways. These are all fleshly imaginations of their evil hearts and vanity. Finally, Stump has been in a prime position for many years to “preach the gospel to every creature,” yet he has failed in this God-given command (Mark 16:14-18), choosing rather to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season (Hebrews 11:24-26). The group also tends to make semi-religious allusions and references in their music, which would be good if they were edifying words instead of vain mockery making light of sin (Proverbs 14:9).
