  • Fleurie 2018 Maison Passot
MAISON PASSOT FLEURIE 2018 MAISON PASSOT || Maison Passot is a small 11 hectare family property spread over 4 crus in Beaujolais. Owners Dominique, Rémy and Simon continue the family tradition, going back generations. The family tends 21 plots - half of which are in Chiroubles, one quarter in Morgon, and smaller holdings in Fleurie and Régnié - in addition to some Viognier vines. All farming follows strict tenets of la lutte raisonnée for a more “natural” wine, surrounded by signs of life and rich biodiversity. BEAUJOLAIS || Located north of Lyon in eastern France, Beaujolais overlaps Burgundy in the north and Rhône in the south. The picturesque Beaujolais vineyards run along the Saône River where the Crus form a meandering path on the granite terrain. From south to north, Brouilly is followed by Côte de Brouilly, Régnié, Morgon, Chiroubles, Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, Chénas, Juliénas and Saint-Amour. FLEURIE 2018 || BLEND | 100% Gamay VINEYARDS | Fleurie is widely considered the most delicate of the crus, covering an area of 855 contiguous hectares (about three square miles). The soil here is unique, almost entirely made up of pink granite. Maison Passot farms 50 year old vines in the Grand pré area of the Cru on east facing slopes. WINEMAKING | Hand harvested grapes that undergo primary and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel and cement vats. ALCOHOL | 13% TASTING NOTES | 93 VIN “Youthful purple. Highly perfumed boysenberry, cherry and lavender scents show outstanding clarity and pick up a smoky mineral nuance with aeration. Sappy and sharply focused in the mouth, offering concentrated, mineral-drenched red fruit, floral pastille and spicecake flavors that deftly blend power and delicacy.

C 343/38 EN Offi cial Jour nal of the European Union 26.8.2021 Publication of a communication of approval of a standard amendment to a product specification for a name in the wine sector referred to in Article 17(2) and (3) of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/33 (2021/C 343/12) This communication is published in accordance with Article 17(5) of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/33 (1). COMMUNICATION OF A STANDARD AMENDMENT TO THE SINGLE DOCUMENT ‘Fleurie’ PDO-FR-A0930-AM02 Date of communication: 7 June 2021 DESCRIPTION OF AND REASONS FOR THE APPROVED AMENDMENT 1. Geographical area In chapter I, section IV, point 1, the words ‘based on the 2019 Official Geographical Code’ have been added after ‘Rhône’. This editorial amendment allows the geographical area to be identified with reference to the 2019 version of the Official Geographical Code, which is updated by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), and gives the definition of the geographical area legal certainty. The boundaries of the geographical area remain unchanged. The phrase ‘are undertaken’ has been replaced by ‘take place’. Point 6 of the single document has been amended to include these changes. A sentence has also been added with the information that cartographic documents pertaining to the geographical area are available on the INAO website. The single document is not affected by this amendment. 2. Area in immediate proximity In chapter I, section IV, point 3, the words ‘based on the 2019 Official Geographical Code’ have been added after ‘the following municipalities’.
